So, I looked through all the forums, and I couldn't find the post I was looking at before. I'm interesting in converting my DRLs to LED. I would put the LED strip above the headlights.
My main question is the electronics. I've been told that on the Kizashi, the DRLs are just dimmed brights. Therefore, if I use the DRL circuit, I would lose bright functionality.
My intent is for the brights to only be used for brights, the LED DRLs always on. No other changes...
How would someone wire this up?

I'm also interested in this wiring. I have the LEDs on top of my headlights and could take pics to show how I wired them but my DRLs are still always on as well as my LEDs. I didn't want to loose my high beams.binarycow wrote:So, I looked through all the forums, and I couldn't find the post I was looking at before. I'm interesting in converting my DRLs to LED. You could probably disable the built in DRL's with one of these tools: http://www.kizashiclub.com/forum/viewto ... =12&t=2847

Perhaps try and talk to a knowledgeable tech at your local Suzuki dealer and ask if it's possible? You might even be able to get it done for a small fee?binarycow wrote:Murcod... The official tool costs too much for me. And the knockoffs... Too much for a risky chance that it will do what I want. Maybe if someone could vouch for the knockoff tools.

It would be better than "butchering" your factory wiring trying to somehow over ride it.

If you want it on all the time, that's easy, just come off the switched side of the ignition to throw a relay - don't need to get into the headlight circuit at all

The original post reads (to me) that the desire is to turn the factory DRL's off and run aftermarket DRL's.~tc~ wrote:If you want it on all the time, that's easy, just come off the switched side of the ignition to throw a relay - don't need to get into the headlight circuit at all

The disabling of the high beam DRL function (whilst not affecting the normal high beam operation) will be difficult. Unless it is part of the BCM functionality and can be programmed via the SDT?binarycow wrote:I'm interesting in converting my DRLs to LED. I would put the LED strip above the headlights.

There was a disable procedure posted on this forum about three weeks ago, I printed it out. A couple of people said they couldn't get it to work, I haven't tried it yet.
