Hello everybody! I just my Kizashi today. 2011 SLS with 90k for 6k out the door. I went back and forth on this car for a couple weeks before I bought it.
I have some questions. First one of the fog lights is out so I need to know what kind of bulb it needs. I know I just take it off to find out but since I'm here.
Next I want to paint all of the chrome trim matte black. Is there a write up on removing the exterior door trims and fender lights? How are they held on?
At some point the 18" runs were replaced with 16" chrome wheels that I'll replace as soon as possible. Should I go with 18s or 17s? What is the pattern on them?
I want to replace all the interior dome lights with LEDs? Is there a write up on which bulbs to get?
The kenwood GPS is alright but I was super disappointed to find out I can't stream Bluetooth. The USB doesn't work with my iPhone 6s. I read some people got 30pin Bluetooth adaptors but I was wondering if that is going to work with my phone when the USB doesn't in the first place? I also can't push to dial with Siri which is a little frustrating. I haven't been able to get Siri to work at all which has always worked for me in other Bluetooth enabled cars.
Do these cars have timing belts that need to be changed? I've also read about the CVT fluid needing to be changed. When does that need to be done and how often?
Just got my Kizashi
I believe the fog lights are H11 bulbs.
CG1 has done the trim, so he is the best bet to ask, or there is a link for the service manual in the DIY section.
There is also a link for the interior lights to LED converson. I don't remember what size they all were.
There are no timing belts. It is a timing chain. There is no specified interval for the CVT, though most are doing it around 60K miles.

Welcome! Sweet car for $6K
I'd keep the 16's for snow tires and get some lightweight 18's for three season tires. Bolt pattern is 5 x 114.3mm. If you don't live in a snow area, then never mind.
You might want to look for the non navigation head unit. It sounds better and interfaces better. I've never been a fan of built in navigation, Google maps does it better and never needs updates.

I'm in Austin, so not much of a winter here. Those 16s just don't look right on the car. If I replace the head, I would probably just get another by kenwood or pioneer that has the features I want. The gps is kind of pointless in the age of smartphones.
Thanks for the replies. I'm really excited about this car.

Welcome!
You got a great car for the money. However, at your mileage, you'll want to get the CVT fluid changed out if not done already.
Also, if your spark plugs are still the originals, time to replace them too. At 90K, the Super Blue Coolant should be replaced too.
The original wheel size for your 2011 SLS is 18 inch so I'd go with that.
I actually have a full LED interior. However, I bought the majority of my LEDs when I was in Japan given the JDM is all about these sorts of products for modification. However, the internet will get you all the LED bulbs you need. I got some at https://www.superbrightleds.com/ and they should have everything you need. Here's a reference for all the bulb sizes. https://www.superbrightleds.com/vehicle ... &year=2011
A T10 LED bulb will fit in many applications ranging from the map lights, trunk light, puddle/courtesy lights, to even the headlight position bulbs and the side marker bulbs.
This link is for my LED interior haul and post-installation pictures. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3374&start=20
As for the stereo, the lack of streaming Bluetooth audio is one of the setbacks of the nav system. The other is that it actually is not as good in audio quality as the non-nav Rockford Fosgate system according to many reviewers and owners.

Awesome! One more question, how do you get to the bulbs? Specifically the front overhead lights. I read someone say they had to removed the entire trim piece to get to them behind but I've changed several cars to led lights and it's always been simple to just remove the lense and pop the new bulb in?
You remove the entire piece and access the bulbs from behind, if I recall correctly. I don't recall removing the lenses. In fact, accessing from the back is better because you don't risk scratching or cracking the lenses.rannel.bradley wrote:Awesome! One more question, how do you get to the bulbs? Okay cool.
Is that where the Bluetooth mic is as well? I discovered this morning that my Bluetooth mic isn't working at all. I can call people and hear them but they can't hear me, thinking it could be the microphone.

Yes, I believe so. In that area near the map lights, you will see a portion that has what looks like speaker covers. I believe the microphone(s) is under those. It's possible there's only one and LHD vs. RHD determines where it's placed.rannel.bradley wrote:Okay cool.

I found the mic, and it was unplugged from the head unit for some reason. I plugged it back in and it works well now! also figured out the light bulbs and ordered my LEDS.
I also got the car debadged and dipped the front "S" black. I looked through the forum for removing the chrome trim but haven't found a definitive answer. The service manual show the door trims being held on with clips but I don't see how and I'm scared to remove it because I don't want to break anything.
