Apple Carplay - head unit upgrade - keep Rockford Fosgate amp system?

Am looking at this AVH-3300NEX flip out Pioneer head unit (will be out in two days) for our 2010 Kizashi https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA ... VH-3300NEX . Crutchfield says it'll fit the Kizashi; I like this single din/flip out approach with an extra storage pocket coming available, and Apple Carplay will be available with the HU. Question - if I want to keep the Rockford Fosgate amp to speakers ecosystem, will this new unit be plug and play well with it? What will I need to do? Also, presumably, I'll need to get a steering wheel control module.
Any comment on upgrading HU /keeping amp will be appreciated. Will I need new fascia kit?

Claim to the fame is wireless Apple Carplay, meaning you don't need to connect your phone physically through USB (though you can). Bluetooth handshake, then wireless like a home router - apparently.

To keep the Rockford Fosgate amp system, according to Crutchfield you need a Scosche S106B Wiring Interface. Have ordered one:

Change of plan - I'm putting the Alpine ilx-107 in a new-to-us 2010 Grand Vitara. I will be putting a different head unit in the Kizashi - a Pioneer AVH-4201NEX. Newegg market offered the Pioneer with $100 rebate from Pioneer, $200 Newegg gift card; and the Pioneer offers both Carplay and Google Car through separate USB ports. I am toying with the idea of getting a separate phone line for Android so I can have Google Maps (video not available on Apple CarPlay). Will let you know.

Keep us in the loop for sure! As the Kizashi ages, even the top of the line Kenwood system will become dated.

In a new episode of as the worm turns, the dealer said FedEx lost the Pioneer in shipping. Good news is, I accepted an offer to replace it with the Alpine ilx-207 and a backup camera: http://alpine-usa.com/company/press/gen ... deo-system Will keep you posted!

Yes, please show pictures of this upgrade - I'm curious to know how the actual faceplate/console of the RF system will accept a 7 inch touchscreen. Given the non-screen / curved surafece of the stock Kizashi dash I'm thinking this might require some kind of fabrication / customization of a bracket for the Alpine unit ?

I have purchased the well-regarded Scosche trim replacement. I hope it does not need more than that. Delivery scheduled for tomorrow, I should have the time to get it in by next weekend.
