Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

We are trying to replace the clutch plate. Cannot find one for the 2010 Kasashi. Not a factory item anymore. My son said he has read that the SX4 clutch plate while not identical will still work. Did not work for my experienced mechanic. It seems to be too thin. Does anyone know a work around?

If you wish to replace entire clutch kit then the 2010 - 2013 sx4 kit is your best bet. My suggestion would be a quality brand . The diameter of the friction surface is smaller but works fine. The friction thickness problem you encountered was probably the fault of a cheap copy kit. The disc should not be thinner. This sx4 substitute has been proven to work fine but by no means an upgrade. The stock flywheel is the same part number for both the sx4 and the Kizashi. If your pressure plate and flywheel are in nice shape, you can refresh the larger clutch system using a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse reman clutch disc . It uses the same diameter and spline count. I would recommend comparing all measurements closely though. This hack also has been done successfully.

From the other thread on clutch replacement, Australian members have stated that the EXEDY - SZK-8624 fits the Kizashi. I wonder if this is also the same Exedy part that fits a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Exedy is a major Japanese OEM for clutch components. That being said, it appears it would just be for the clutch disc and other parts might be hard to source. I think the safer bet for more compatibility with all parts is what Old Tech advises: a Suzuki SX4 clutch kit. The only compromise is a smaller clutch disc but it will fit.

The clutch has been a worry of mine regarding the Kizashi but at this point, I'm confident I'll be replacing the vehicle before the clutch wears out.
