Hyundai Genisis sedan? Fast and reliable... Nice interior...

Also have a friend with a new turbo Kia Optima. Stupid fast for a Kia and the interior is swank!

How about a Volvo S60? Or is that a little out of your price range?

Something like this is more appropriate for Weshoot2's commute

I always thought about what would be my next car and at first I kept thinking WRX, but now I don't think I would enjoy the car long term. The WRX when it comes down to it is a 4 door sports car. WIth a fmaily of four I don't think I want a car with a rough ride, and mediocre gas milage.

If I were you weshoot2 I would also consider a used awd luxury sedan. Some can be had for a nice price. Cars like the g37x, is 250, and acura TLA could be what you are looking for.

And more.....

I've considered the Volvo, but repair costs are breathtaking.
I've considered the Caddys (friend has one), and it's still on my list.
I've considered the BMW 3-series (I mean, I can get a deal. A really good deal. Really really good).
The AMGs are beyond my price range.

But I'm bugging the wife to find a '13 KiZashi with low miles (she made me pass on a 8500 mile example we drove by in Altoona, PA).

Why about a lightly used Infiniti? Not the current boring gen, but the last ones? Thirsty though and premium fuel.

Triggerhappy wrote:Check out the new VW Golf. Luxurious interior for the price, kind of like our Kizashis. Since you drive a lot, get the TDI manual. You can get close to 600 miles on just 13 gallons. My other car is a 2013 Passat TDI DSG. I got 800 miles out of 18 gallons a couple of times. Don't get the DSG since it costs $300-$400 every 40K to service the transmission.
04/08 Golf R32's are pretty cheap (not Kizashi cheap, but whatever), turbo 6 cylinder, and AWD. The 2012 Golf R's are not so cheap and the same AWD. Then there's only the BRAND SPANKING NEW 2015 Golf R's. VW is taking pre-orders right now. But those are almost twice the price of a brand new GTI. Supposedly the new Golf R's are supposed to come in a "SportWagon" model as well. Basically like a regular one, but a lot longer, similar to the Jetta sport wagons.

The Mk4 and Mk5 "R32" are actually naturally aspirated (and sound amazing). The "Golf R" (Mk6 and on) have a turbocharged 2.0L. The Mk7 Golf R is $35.5k!
