How many Aussie Kizashi owners are out there?
It was part of my Double Din HU update that I just completed.topcat45 wrote:Thanks for that Minority, I was actually wondering that myself & intended to ask when next in for service. Any chance you can enlighten us with your camera details, type, cost, was it DIY etc etc
The camera was about $19 shipped from ebay and all up the system came in at about $500 including the double din hu (DVD, sat nav, bluetooth, usb, ipod, radio), reversing camera, double din facia, assorted cables and wiring harness adapters. I did the installation myself.
Thanks for the info. I got the AWD sports version & the Rockford Fosgate system comes with the i pod slot, the bluetooth (which is bloody awesome) & sensors front & rear. I have a great Tom Tom so didn't go for the satnav, however I would still be interested in installing a simple but effective reversing camera
My main reason for the update was Bluetooth, I couldn't beleive that a $40,000 car didn't come with it! (I have a 2010 SLS with the Rockford Fosgate system). The dealer wanted $500 just to add bluetooth and that wasn't a fully integrated system with steering wheel controls like yours. I decided to risk a cheap chinese "all in one" system for the same price and so far (early days) I am pretty happy.
Your problem with a reversing camera will be where you are going to mount the screen. I believe that the Suzuki version is integrated in the rear view mirror.

Yep that's correct, the bluetooth is steering wheel controlled. I was thinking of the camera screen located possibly in the console just in front of the gear lever where the cig lighter is. You are also correct in that the Suzuki system has the camera screen incorporated in the RV mirror. This would not be an option for me as I use a wide angle mirror that takes care of all blind spots, a must for crazy Sydney traffic. I even had to cover the auto dimming RV mirror to accommodate this
What am I doing wrong!?
Trying to wire up my daytime running LED's exactly how topcat45 did his. But it's not working! I've checked the lights again & again - they work when I connect them to the + & - terminals of the battery, but when I wire them the way topcat45 did, they don't work! I'm at a loss to explain why this is the case!

The only thing I can think of is you might be tapping into the wrong + line. See the attached pic, my finger is pointing to relay #33 which controls the rear window demister & you should be able to see the 2 red + feed wires going into the relay near my finger. You have to remove this relay & put the bared + wires into the socket occupied by the relay blade closest to the firewall, then refit the relay so that the + wires are jammed into the socket by the relay blade. You should be able to see the 2 black wires at the top right of the pic attached to a blue crimp connector. This is the earth connector. make sure it is connected to a proper earth. The LED lights then should work when you go to ignition on as well as engine running. Sorry if I have been telling you how to suck eggs, just trying to cover all bases. let me know how it goes ok.
