I thought about this too when I first read about it, but the problem is that you can't put the car in relearn mode while it is on, only off. So the only workaround to this would be to put the car in neutral and roll down a hill while in re-learn mode. I was going to try it if I didn't get it to work with the vt30 or the air trigger method didn't come about.

I believe if you start the car anywhere in the process, you automatically exit re-learn mode. I haven't tried it, and the service manual doesn't specify anything, so it's something one of us should just try.
And if it is possible to drive the car in re-learn mode, the whole tpms thing just got a lot simpler--get car in to re-learn and then just drive! All the sensors would automatically trigger once they detect speeds over 5mph and the ecu would register them.
Thanks for posting the non tool way to solve this issue. Had an ongoing slow tire leak for quite some time.
I would constantly have to pump air back into the passenger side rear. First I thought it was the tire and took it to a place where they patched the tire and said it should be ok. It wasn't, still leaking. At this point all I get is the low pressure tire warning light, which covers the display info.
Took it to another shop and they said the stem was leaking from the sensor. Told them not to change. Left and after a few miles a new message appeared - TPMS requires service - or something close. Went to another spot where they put in a rubber stem in place of the defective sensor stem since they could not do it.
Took the old sensor to an Auto Zone where I purchased a VIDO replacement which looked very similar if not darn near the exact same sensor without a Suzuki badge.
Next day went back to the place that told me it was the sensor stem. They replaced the sensor with the one I purchased. Yet they could not clear the TPMS message. Frustrated I came here looking for answers. I leave for UAE in a few weeks. I wanted this resolved before moving.
It took several tries but I finally got the car to relearn. Then went to a local WAWA with the LCD automatic air pump machine. Followed the steps outlined on removing air and from all 4 within 180 seconds and it worked.
Saved me the trouble of going to a Suzuki place tomorrow. Thanks a bunch, finally got rid of that annoying warning message.

And an update on the vt30--tried it on a friend's Nissan Rogue a few weeks back. Pulled it out to set it back to Suzuki mode and all the buttons worked fine. I don't get it...

Sell the VT30 and go "El-natural".
But it's not worth anything anymore since everyone can just use the air-bleed method to trigger the sensors.
I pulled it out again yesterday to swap to the winter set. But the wife said it's too early. But I said I don't want to change the tires in the cold. But the wife wins. vt30 went back to its home.
