There are 2 types of BSD in the market:
1- ultrasonic: more like rear parking sensor with extra range(2-3 meters)
2- Microwave: this type uses 24GHz receiver and transmitter which can detect multiple objects with range of 10m.

microwave has these pros:
- long-range
- no need to drilling rear bumper to install sensors. microwave signals can pass plastic.
- can work well in fog and rain situation.
also has some cons in my opinion
- more expensive
- false alarm in some cases.
overall it is a good safety option for Kizashi and I am happy with this install.
I bought this unit from aliexpress

In order to install the unit, you have to remove the rear bumper and install sensors as shown in pictures

Curious how this worked out for you? How does the blindspot monitoring alert work? Does it beep? is there some kind of visual feedback you have if someone is in your blindspot?

same as other microwave BSD systems, yes when speed above a specified threshold and system detects an object with a higher speed approaching your car led turn ON on that side of the car and if you press turn the switch on that side too, led flashes and beep generated by the system to alarm you.
this product does not have a side mirror led but others have this led too.

One of the things I love about my Kizashi is that its a relatively modern vehicle with basically zero nanny devices. So while I certainly appreciate that it's your vehicle and your choice to add something like that, its very strange to me when I see most automotive enthusiasts desperately searching for vehicles that lack these kinds of annoying devices or finding ways to disable them.
