Air Intake silencer removal.

The Do It Yourself section is used provide assistance with mods and fixes. Whenever you are making a change to your car please take pictures and notes. Let others know what to watch out for and any useful tricks you learn. If you are starting a post in this section from scratch please hold it to a higher standard than you would for other forum posts. i.e. technical detail and even grammar.

Whatt those are the silencers? lol I'll just start a new project on building my own intake then, what are you gonna cover the holes with though?

I used a couple of caps from some soda bottles and the factory clamps.

I was mistaken.The actual silencer IS right behind the air intake and before the airbox.Two 10MM bolts hold it on.One you can see at the bottom and the other is hidden by the intake ducting near the top.Once loose,it's a bear to get out,but it will come.Sorry for the misinfo.Hear is a pic of what it looks like.

I took out those 2 small "silencers" & u have to cap them. Then car will turn off if u don't. Feels like the car stalls out. I'ma buy caps today for them. As far as that big box thing from the post above me I'ma try & take that out today.

Like the pictures above^^ I took those out & plugged it wit that rubber piece that u put under a cain lol, it works good
Tho, I think soda bottle caps would fit perfect... But anyways I also took out the big air silencer that's underneath the air filter box, it's an even bigger silencer held by 2 10mm screws. I took that off & capped it wit the lactiad milk bottle cap lol, no lie it fits perfectly in there... Wish I could put up pics but don't know how to on an iPhone.

Hey so I have a question.. Um to take out that silencer on the bottom, I have to remove the bumper? cause I can't get to the screws, I mean I did but with a drill & it won't screw off even with a drill lol, how am I supposed to unscrew all these screws?

You don't have to remove the bumper!?!?! Just look at the post I put up earlier. They're only TWO 10mm bolts that hold it on. I don't know what you're trying to remove,but it doesn't sound like the silencer. :lol:

Yeah it is the silencer, same exact thing.. my big hands won't fit there lol & the screws are screwed on like it's an airplane, I can't unscrew it with any wrench

& there's another thing u could do to that I did not to long ago & no lie, it makes the engine sounds crazy beautiful. Nice deep sound. Just need to know how to post up pics so I can show ya
