I recently installed a new amplifier to add a little extra power to the Fosgate subwoofer. I used a Kicker DX-250.1 mono amplifier and wired the Fosgate sub to 2 ohms. The sub is a dual 1 ohm sub so if you wire the 2 voice coils in series you end up with a 2 ohm load. I would say I'm probably using only about half the power this amp is capable of outputing but it really is a big improvement. With the OEM Navigation setup I could hardly tell if that sub was doing anything at all. I have heard it sounds much better with non-nav radios.
