MPH in Info Window

The Do It Yourself section is used provide assistance with mods and fixes. Whenever you are making a change to your car please take pictures and notes. Let others know what to watch out for and any useful tricks you learn. If you are starting a post in this section from scratch please hold it to a higher standard than you would for other forum posts. i.e. technical detail and even grammar.

I read somewhere that someone had been able to get the MPH displayed in the display between the tach & speedometer. Has anybody figured out how to do this? It would be great to get a digital display of MPH.

I recall reading the thread somewhere, but I thought the conclusion was that it cannot be done. I don't think the display menu allows for showing the speed in the digital display other than average speed.

The menu doesn't, but I don't see how it wouldn't be possible if it already reads and displays the MPH as an average. Maybe there's some sort of hack for it somewhere?

That would be quite awesome. I was actually surprised that it can't.

I just use the display on the navi that has the mph...or at least my wife does and then tells me to slow down. :oops: :drive:

I wish it would show my music info when I stream from my phone/ipod. Or even more ideal, nav instructions, but it's not that advanced.

Found the string that mentioned getting a digital MPH readout

He called it the "Engine Mode Screen" that allows digital read outs on, your engine RPM, MPH, Raw Fuel level, True fuel Level. Come on guys, start hitting buttons & switches, lets see if someone can crack the sequence to get this screen up.

Interesting as that thread also has a procedure to disable DRLs.

Has anyone searched the service manual for "Engine Mode"?

I had a look the other day - nothing.

However, the posted DRL procedure (that people have posted doesn't work) is in there.
