I just got my 2011 S AWD w/ CVT a couiple months ago, traded my SX4 for it, and of course i love it. I got the S because im not into all the bells and whistles, besides i see no need to spend extra cash on their rims if i buy my own, its whats under the hood that matters...and the suspension too of course.
My question is what is the maximum speed (if any) that it can be switched into AWD?
Hey there Kizashi lovers, im new here...and one question
I don't think there is one on kizashi like the SX4.

I was told by the salesman that the maximum speed to switch was 85mph, but after looking through the manual i found no evidence to suppport that. Thanks for the info.

When we bought our 05 XL-7 with push button 4WD, they stated that it was not recommended to engage the AWD over 65 mph. Most companies don't want to put a number on such questions because then that have to honor that figure in the event anything does happen when drivers go by it. Just remember that you are engaging a free spinning load to your drivetrain when you push that button. So in theory, the faster you are going, the more likely you are to have issues with something going wrong. I have always opted to slow to at least 55 before I engage mine. But thats just me.

Engaging at 55 makes perfect sense, and usually i am eith in AWD already or just fwd, and if i neede it i wouldnt not be flying on ther highway in extreme snowy conditions. Infact my Explorer had pushbutton awd and was limnited to 55 and under for engagment.
They way I understand iAWD is that it only engages upto 50% of power to the rear when slipping is noticed. So just pushing the button doesn't engage power to the rear. The only way I could see damage occuring would be to engage while in a turn, as mentioned in the manual, or while you just happen to be spinning your wheels in a slippery situation and then hitting the button.
