http://www.gencoupe.com/3-8-v6/33471-ns ... story.html (owner ended up wanting a refund after he noticed slower 0-60 times with NSPP installed)

They have since, for the most part, quit posting all together and haven't responded to anyone about a refund for a product that doesn't work at all how it was, or is still, being marketed. 2.0T NSPP users were showing 15:1 a/f ratios, getting random CEL's pop up, having no start issues, etc. Some V6 owners actually LOST power from the NSPP and even after getting "the fix" of tuning software from Rock weren't able to make more than 1-2hp over stock.
Thanks for the post. Was thinking of getting the piggy back ECU (similar to the NSPP I assume), but sounds like a good potential $400+ paperweight. I would think the exhaust and intake mods would show some improvement, But with the price of the exhaust, I think I will wait until more posters have had experience (ideally with a before and after Dyno test).

Also, this may explain why RRM was so evasive on specific results. That alone had given me pause.

To the posters on this forum - good to see some relevant threads like this performance thread. Another forum is full of how they love their car, how cut it is, etc.

I wouldn't have it any other way. Hopefully we will continue to grow as a community, and I have high hopes since our content is superior to everything I have seen on the web.

Keep it coming, and I will try to make sure all of you have a good community to share information without censorship (be respectful) and as few ads as possible.

Piping and filters are pretty hard to have things go wrong with, so I'm sure their basic bolt ons are as good as any others. It's just their electronics I'd be weary of...

Good luck with the modding though!

I'm driving down to SoCal from the SF Bay, so I'll have plenty of miles on the car by the time I get home and will post up a review. Good stuff!

How is the car Joe? Have not heard from you in a while. Should have more goodies for you soon. Swaybar and springs are almost ready. Just a few more weeks.

I did a bit of research on the Piggy back for the Kizashi and it actually is a completely different product from the NSPP. There are actually quite a few postive responses from the Piggy back, just want to make sure we are talking about a product that they make for our cars, RRM doesn't even make an NSPP for out Kizashi.

Hey Rob...the car is great! I checked in with Brian about a month or so ago to see what was on the horizon. Been busy, though; got married, recently found out my wife is pregnant, and are house hunting at the moment. Either way, though, I'm looking forward to the springs and bars! Also, when are we gonna see some RRM wheels for the Kizashi?? ;)

Anybody else with this setup? I'm really curious on how much of a difference it makes.

I'm thinking of getting the lightweight crank pulley soon. I had this on my Subaru WRX and it made a very noticeable difference with throttle response and gas mileage. I'm hoping it will do the same to my Kiz. I am loving the car but not the lazy throttle.

Hey guys,

I love that there's more activity on this forum lately! It was starting to feel a little lonely in here and I was starting to wonder if I was a minority regarding wanting perfomance upgades to our beloved cars.

Anyway, I just wanted to say to the poster who was worried that the Piggyback might just be an expensive paper weight, that I can attest that it most certainly is not. Its not a fire-breathing beast now that I have it and the sri installed, but that annoying cvt lag is gone. Now when I hit the gas from a dead stop my Kizashi goes enthusiastically instead of making me wish I hadn't pulled out in front of that car! So I think you'd be happy with it and would find it worth the money.

kegard,

I'm hoping to get the lightweight pulley in the next two months (I'm getting back surgery tomorrow and won't be able to drive for a month, so hopefully I'll be able to get it installed while I'm recovering). I'll be sure to let you know what difference it makes to my cvt. Not sure how much of a difference it'll make for the mt though.

Amedia,

I'm also thinking about getting the catback installed down the road. I realize you got everything at once, but can you end some advice on the benefits of the catback? Is it worth getting? 'Cause I'd also like to get the CF bumper cap (tried the vinyl but that was a disaster for me) and the CF rear diffuser, so I need to pick and choose since I can't afford to get it all at once.

Thanks,

lol, you are not alone. I want to modded my car too in terms of performance but can only upgrade 1 or 2 things per year. Being broke sucks big time!! :(

There's no way that I could honestly report performance gains on the cat-back since I did have all the mods installed at once. I can say that I have been pleased with the sound of the exhaust, though slightly older passengers have told me that they think it's a bit loud when riding in the back seat.

For everyone else I can also offer a long term assessment of the entire RRM package. After 12,000 miles I haven't had a single problem with any part of the car. And I am still pleased with the performance gains that the package has provided. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the lag is totally gone off the line, though the car is respectably responsive. Where this package shines is on the freeway. I have an 80-mile round-trip highway commute during the workweek; I merge and pass with EASE and the car pulls up steep grades that seems to take their toll on other vehicles. Though I 110% understand not spending a cent until objective evidence of the merits of these products is made public, I would certainly endorse this package.
