Really poor gas mileage
My average speed is usually from 28 to 40, unless I am on a trip where I am primarily on the highway. Then it can be as high as 68...but there is obviously a direct correlation between your average speed and your mileage since the lower the average speed, the more likely you are sitting in lights and stopping and going...

I do realize if i drive over 130km/h (80mph), I get worse economy than driving at 100km/h (62.5mph). Both on highways without any lights
Just went 466.1 miles on 16.45 G of regular (87 octane) non-ethanol gas. That's 28.33 mpg (the HUD says average fuel economy is 30.1mpg). My kizashi has 40k on the odo and I've owned him (yes, mine's a boy!) for about 3 weeks. So far I've added 3k to the odo and have been pleased with my overall gas mileage. Oh, and my average speed is 44 mph. And one more thing- I decided to give shell v-power a go this tank.
Woah! 16.5? You're a lot gutsier than I am, I would have been holding my breath for the last 30 miles, and therefore wouldn't be posting.Kazuki wrote:Just went 466.1 miles on 16.45 G of regular (87 octane) non-ethanol gas.

That's exactly how mine works, computer is about 2 mpg optimisticThat's 28.33 mpg (the HUD says average fuel economy is 30.1mpg).
3K in 3 weeks? Hope you had a trip or something, car's not going to be around very long at that pace.My kizashi has 40k on the odo and I've owned him (yes, mine's a boy!) for about 3 weeks. So far I've added 3k to the odo and have been pleased with my overall gas mileage.

Yes I understand that there is a correlation between average speed (reflecting your highway and urban driving) and the mpg. That's why I am asking. I get very low milleage around 18-20 mpg but my average speed is usually at around 20 mph. So I want to know for other Kizashi owners with such low average speed, what their mpg is like, whether mine is just expected or abnormally low for even 20 mph average speed.
I am a lil surprised by my average speed actually. Sure i mainly drive in the local Long Island with lots of lights and stops, but I do drive every now and then on highway too. I will probably try to manually calculate it for my next tank, by dividng the miles traveled by the amount of time that car is on (with a stop watch? Including idle).
The mpg plateaus out at around 55-75 mph average speed I think, with higher speed above that causing a tow on the mpg.
Took one roadtrip with mostly purely highway driving few months back and was the only time I got above 23 mpg in two years - got 30 mpg on V-power. Didnt jog down the average speed but I believe it was 45-50 mph.

Hey guys! I am now close to 19 000 km and my gas mileage is still really bad... They did a fuel test and I am suppose to get 28 mpg (8.4L/100 km). With that being said...I should get around 535 km with 45 liters. I am not even able to get 350 km with 45 liters... I know it's not normal, but what can I do now? They did a fuel test and it came out normal. I love the car, but it cost me around $60 just to do 350 km.. it does not make sense. Is it worth it to send an email to Suzuki Canada? I don't think so...I know I am doing a lot of stop and go, but still my 2004 Audi A4 Quattro with 110 000 km on it had a better gas mileage.
