RRM Kizashi Short Ram Intake

Thinking about getting one It doesn't void any suzuki warranty correct? The price is a little steep though. Is it worth it, does it make the engine noisy? The low noise levels is one of my favorit things about the kizashi but this 4 banger needs every little help it can get!
It may or may not void the warranty it just depends. Some dealers may be fussy and if something goes wrong, they might try and blame it on the intake. Although everyone here will tell you that they need to prove that the modifcation caused the problem. If you have a suspension problem then obviously they cant try and blame it on the intake and void the warranty.
Is it worth it? That is a question i would like answered as well. There doesn't seem to be any dyno results which is what i would love to see as i want the short ram too.
The intake wont affect noise too much unless you give it a fair bit of throttle. if you are driving normally you wont notice it much but once you put your foot down it will start to growl.
Im assuming you have the cvt automatic as you say it needs all the help it can get? I have the manual and it goes alright but once i hit 3000rpm it actually goes quite fast! But since mine is still new i havn't gone too much past 3k rpm yet
Im thinking about getting the pulley also which if it works as they say, would be a good mod if you are worried about noise although you are also concerned about warranty too so not sure how it affect it.

There apparently are dyno results at RRM, but they will not turn them loose.will2k wrote:

hmm.... I'm sure the RRM SRI works fine but I'm not sure I want to deal with warranty problems. Looks like I'll just go with the RRM air filter.

Yea actually mine is still brand new, just got past the recommended period for the break in so I haven't really gone past 3k much. I think I exaggerated a bit when I said it needs all the help because the car has plenty of power for regular driving but another 10-20hp couldn't hurt.will2k wrote:It may or may not void the warranty it just depends. Maybe the best thing to do is to keep the stock intake and replace it when you go to the dealers?? I'm still trying to find ask around what the dealers have to say if it does void the warranty. I was reading the K&N website about intakes and they say that it should not void any warranty, it also said that if the dealers give you trouble to have K&N contact them. So...
I have noticed this thread has had no new info for many months. I am anxious to hear more about the SRI from users or from RRM. Are there dyno results that can be shared that show any improvement with the SRI? Anyone with one installed that can talk about mileage or seat-of-the-pants changes after the install?
Good question. Never could get RRM to turn the Dyno results loose.havinfun wrote:I have noticed this thread has had no new info for many months. Honestly lost the sheet guys. I will say expect a good 5% gains though and with a piggyback ECU expect even better gains and tons better throttle response. Here is a write up from Road & Track Driving our N/A equipped Kizashi. It has basically all of our N/A mods and suspension- springs and rear swaybar. I know it is not a sheet and it is not a diversion but I really cannot locate the sheet. I know we made more than 5 h.p. but the sheet showed more because we did not test the intake alone either. Here is a short write up. Hope it builds a little goodwill and confidence. Thanks

OK, maybe I need new glasses, but I didn't see anything in the short article from Rock's link that seemed to specifically talk about a Kizashi modified with the RRM performance upgrades or compare the upgraded car to a stock Kizashi (there is a photo of a modified Kizashi, but was that the car that Road and Track was testing)? I would really enjoy seeing a non-biased review of the RRM products so I hope there is some info here that I just missed.
Rock: I am not a tuner but what I understand about the RRM piggyback ECU is that it re-maps the fuel levels that were originally programmed by Suzuki. The RRM writeup for the piggyback suggests that the new program mapping improves both the HP and mileage, even without adding the SRI, light weight pulley, and cat back exhaust. If true, why wouldn't Suzuki remap their ECU to values to match the piggyback, and advertise the enhanced performance numbers for the new model (2011) Kizashi? Seems to me that re-programming the Kizashi ECU would be a no-cost change that Suzuki would jump to incorporate to get the performance gains without a piggyback. Am I missing something here?
