New Kumho Tires

With my annual PA state inspection due at the end of the month, My Kizashi finally needed some new tires. I bought my pre-owned 2010 GTS in February of 2012 with the original Dunlop tires still on it. Evidently, the previous owners didn't do a very good job of rotating the tires but I still managed to get almost 45K miles out of them! I replaced the OEM Dunlop SP Sport 7000 A/S tires with Kumho Ecsta 4X High Performance All-Season tires based mostly on the positive consumer reviews (7.7/10 vs. 5.8/10 for the Dunlop) and pricing ($146 Kumho vs. $199 Dunlop) from Tire Rack. They were shipped directly to a local Mr. Tire who also performed a much needed 4 wheel alignment. I'd recommend the whole process as it was easy and well coordinated.

I haven't had a chance to get a feel for the new tires yet but I'll be sure to post updates of my impressions. The drive home was mostly uneventful but the tires are fairly quiet and have a nice, immediate bite to them. I'm anxious to have more confidence in wet weather as the Dunlops easily lost traction and hydroplaned at the end of their useful life.

Congrats on some good lookin tires. My original Dunlops have been rotated
every 4000 miles but I doubt if they will last for 25000 miles.

I have a 2010 GTS as well, same tires. I have driven to OK, MO and IL from TN since I changed them. I have them rotated everytime I change the oil. Great tires and ride real smooth.

I've been very happy with the Kumho tires too, ssghembree1. After about 1500 miles on them, I have mostly positive things to say and I would definitely recommend them at this point. I guess the only improvement I'd like would be a little less road noise on the highway. How many miles have you driven on your Kumho tires?

I have about 20k on them now. Still rotating them. I don't notice the road noise, maybe because I have the radio up.
