Daytime LED Running Lights

Haha. I am sure you know what I mean. They can become cloudy while still being functional it just spreads the light and it also looks bad during the day. I was just afraid that might happen and I was hoping that if you start to see any changes please tell us. I know that you won't let them fade completely out because you would probably just use a buffing/cutting compound to clean the oxidized material off but that would become a pain because once this process starts you generally have to repeat it often.

Baking headlights is a pretty common practice. I've seen it done many many times on many different cars and have never heard of it causing increased oxidation rates, so I think you're probably safe on that front. That being said, I'm still afraid of doing it for different reasons, mostly not trusting myself.

Awesome. Good to know. I was just hoping that someone such as yourself had long-term knowledge about the effects of baking the lights. I still can't decide which would be better to do though this process which takes more effort and gets an amazing in light effect or just mounting the LEDs lower on the bumper around the fog light areas which would still look cool and not take as much time or possible damage if I screw up.

Ok, I'm going to pony up some information for my faint of heart Kizashi brothers and sisters and provide an alternative to opening the headlight housing.
Let me first say by no means is this an endorsement or sales job for this website and I am in no way associated with them; however when I was making my choice of which way to go with my LEDs, I considered this product as it's supposed to be flat and able to slip between the headlight housing and bumper. I chose not to go this way because the LEDs were spaced further apart and I had concerns about the wiring and connections being exposed to water, rain, carwash, etc.

Kckizash: those are the type I used but it would still be very tight at the bottom seem. Especially the plug part of it.

Im thinking of doing some daytime running lights but since here in Australia they aren't very common as only very few ( generally expensive ) cars have them and police aren't a big fan of them im going to need a switch. I could wire up a switch to turn them off and on but since i will probably forget very often is it possible to connect the led's to a switch and then from the switch to the fuse where you guys connected it.

That way when the car is on the led's come on assuming the switch is on also.

If i go ahead with it i would be installing them where the foglights generally go with an led strip on each side.

Looks good.. I still cannot get past the baking step. (I cringe)
However, when you took out the headlamp I am sure you noticed the lip that surrounds the entire thing. It diffuses light pretty well. check sig.

I plan to get on more longer one to see how it will look with the entire headlamp wrapped.
