I have approximately 3,500km on my Kizashi so far and the car shows 10.8L/100km (22mpg) with mostly city driving in automatic and FWD mode. This is consistent with the US EPA's rating of 22mpg, but no where near Suzuki's claim of 26mpg

This is with 87 octane with 10% ethanol and synthetic oil

Burned through a tank of non-ethanol 87 octane. It still had some residual of the previous fuel but I saw an increase of 3 mpg over my last tank to 26. I would like to have done several more tanks and more mileage but locations for buying this fuel make it impractical to get during the work week.

I'm getting about 8L/100 (29 mpg) around town and 7L/100K (34 mpg) on pure highway, but I'm known for eking mileage out of cars, and it's a FWD six speed.

Just ran two tanks of premium through it and noticed no difference whatsoever, performance or mileage. Threw away $10 on that little experiment.

Premium doesn’t make any difference. The determine factor is whether the fuel has ethanol or not. So 87 octane non-ethanol blend fuel can result in a higher mileage than 91 premium ethanol blend fuel.

Yup, gasoline with 10% ethanol is supposedly 3% less efficient. I believe ethanol is more resistant to detonation though. A lot of racers use E85 for more powaaaaa

3% efficiency is guaranteed due to the lower energy content in ethanol. I think kizashi is not tuned to be using ethanol-blend fuel. I see a far greater improvement using ethanol-free fuel.

You will see a lot more than 3% loss in mileage in most cars. I see about 7-15% loss when I run it.

Last two tanks both returned in excess of 31 MPG.

I have been giving the Premium Fuel a try on my last 3 tanks. I think I am seeing an improvement, but my driving patterns are so irradic that it is hard to tell. Seems to me that I am getting about 2 MPG better on my latest tank of Mobil Premium. Previously I tried 2 tanks of Sunoco Premium. So...I was checking to see where I could get Mobil locally and I am stunned to find out that in my local area we have no Mobil stations. I got my last tank when we took a little road trip about 1.5 hours away. The car got the best mileage I have seen with that fuel. Anyway...I am wondering what peoples thoughts are on the best fuel brands. Locally we have Sunoco, Hess, Valero, Kwik Fill, Gulf, and some local brands.

Where I live it all comes from the same holding tanks. Down in the Port of Tampa the gas trucks line up and fill from the same tank just that some trucks are brand marked and some aren't. I followed one once and it was an unmarked tanker that delivered to Shell, Sunoco and Mobil WITH THE SAME FUEL.
