Anyone installed Laser Interceptor Jammer heads to Kizashi

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

Hi gang,

I'm currently running 4x Blinder 905 laser jammer heads on the front of my 2012 AWD Kizashi but want to swap them over for Laser Interceptor heads. These heads are a lot bigger. Has any member done a LI install to a Kizashi? I need some ideas on working these into grill, install locations etc. Do I buy another grill and have it modified? Anyone know of places that can do? Any help and assistance from members would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Wow, I didn't know devices like that even existed!

You would probably find it easier to instal them into the lower spec Kizashi centre grille - the type with the horizontal bars. I'm willing to swap grilles..... :D

Otherwise I'd think you'd need to cut out a section from the lower mesh grille the exact size of the sensor? I assume there isn't enough space above your fog lights in that recessed area of the bumper?

Don't tempt me, maybe my only option yet. I have the 905's which are smaller and fit OK near front number plate. But have just bought the higher power heads from LI and Im struggling to work our where to fit. Im open for all and any ideas. They are costly but with the revenue raising these days. I need all the help I can get. Thanks for the input Dave. Im racking my brain over this. May have to buy a spare grill and play around. There has to be a way....lol.....

I'm guessing you haven't priced the lower grille? They're up around $300 from Suzuki!

What about making a bracket up behind your number plate, so they could be mounted at the bottom of the plate. (It would be a bit obvious though!)

PS: What are you going to do if they pull you over and start searching your vehicle? I'm guessing these devices fall into the same category as the old radar jammers?

Currently legal in WA as they have a park assist function. So when you get a warning, you dro down to your speed flick the switch. If you were pulled over, they are a parking assist sensor. Radar and laser detectors are for now legal in WA.
I was thinking of this grill https://dragtimes.com/parts/2010---2013 ... 88193.html
Then go to mig welder and have slots nicely put put in with a small lip on the inside to mount heads. I need two right above the number plate (each side) and two slanted at about 35 degrees to monitor side of the road for Poliscan camera used here. That's the sucker that will get you. My 905's are OK but want to try the more powerful heads. Fitting them is the real drama..... Thinking of looking at custom grills either to get one made... Then would keep my old grill as a spare.
Any thoughts or ideas welcome. Im racking my brain here....lol.....
I could go to the extreme of putting the heads to slant outwards inside the headlight cover, the same as LED light setup but it scares me to death to ut my headlight in the over. I'm not that savy... lol....
I can easily mount above number plate for 2 heads pointing straight but Im left with the other two heads ... Im not worried about the heads being seen near number plate as to date not illegal and only parking sensor...lol.... Hope that makes sense...
Just want to do it right the first time and thinking grill modification is the only way.

I edited my first post before I realised you'd posted - you might not have noticed? I mentioned the fog light position, but I'm guessing that's too low? They're naturally angled off to each side (on my Touring at least, the Sport appears similar). It was a PITA for me mounting daytime running lights, but would assist you with obtaining the desired 35 degree angle.

That billet grille..... you'd ruin the looks of your Kizashi! :o

Too bad in Australia you guys dont have those ugly orange side markers. Otherwise you could try mounting the head on there lol

Looks like cutting into the grill is my only option. It was worth a shot. Thanks for the input all.

So you are mounting 2 facing straight forward on top of your license plate and 2 facing forward at an angle towards left and right?? Are you having trouble finding a place for the 2 facing straight forward or the 2 that are facing at an angle??
