My son has locked the key fob in the car. I thought the button on the door handle should unlock it from that distance (the key is in the centre console). We have had a bit of an ice storm so not sure if this is a factor. Would it normally open from there? We have only had the car for a month.

Normally it is not possible to lock the doors w/ the key FOB anywhere inside the car. Even if you manually try to rotate the inside lock by the door handle, it will unlock itself instantly. So either the key FOB's battery is dead, or very weak, or someone manually locked the car door from the outside with the emrgency key from inside one of the FOBs.

Yup. The fob battery must be weak so the car did not detect the fob inside the console.Ronzuki wrote:Normally it is not possible to lock the doors w/ the key FOB anywhere inside the car.
