Getting Looks In Your Kizashi

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

So I wouldn't even be posting this thread unless I discovered a very facinating thing about driving the Kizashi--you get almost the same looks driving a Kizashi as a Porsche. And this is coming from the experience of owning and driving both cars.

On a recent 1000mi round trip through 6 states, I saw no less than one dozen people (mostly passengers) that practically broke their neck to see what car I was driving. You could even see them discussing it with the driver or getting their attention, or in one case, I think someone even took a picture to research it later. And my car is completely badged and everything.

Having this type of attention when driving a Porsche or some other exotic is commonplace, but I've never experienced it in ANY car that is factory stock and under $30k. 8-)

It just shows how much attention this car could have gotten with the right marketing. :(

Any one else have some similar stories?

I've had similar experiences. People driving nicer cars have complimented the Kizashi. One woman asked if it was a new Lexus model.
One guy even tried to as me questions about it as we were driving on a bridge.
I've also noticed someone taking a picture of the car while we were driving.

The car is rare and is quite good looking so I guess I'm not that surprised.

I've experienced that as well. When I had a BMW I would feel self-conscious about people complimenting the car or looking at it—I don't like being perceived as a big shot or big spender. But I am enjoying this—it makes me feel genuinely exclusive.

Had a little hatchback flash its lights at me several times even though I usually go faster than most drive in the city so I decided to move to the left and let him pass. He whizzed past and as soon as he was ahead of me, braked hard in order to look at what my car looked like from ahead. I had to slam the breaks to avoid rear-ending him :P

Especially here in India, you get stares every time you take it out

I bet. I hear that over there, it's marketed as a luxury car. India is full of Suzukis, but most are Swifts, Altos, and Wagon R's which cost much less than a Kizashi. That being said, it was still a flop in India; a country where Suzuki has a very strong presence. It makes me really wonder about the future of the car.

Rare is one thing, but that never seemed to get the looks that the Kizashi gets. I mean up there with Porsche and other exotics? That I never expected. 8-)
