Fuel pump noise when car is off

I noticed this mechanical whir when the Kizashi had been parked well over 6 hours. Any ideas?

It's normal with this car and most modern cars for that matter. It is part of the test of emissions control system.

There are several threads on here regarding the sound. I heard my forester do it the other day while I was working on it as well.

Yup, it's normal. Every new owner goes through this, including myself.
