Every time I start the engine, I get an enormously loud "blast" of volume - less than half a second long thankfully then the volume drops back down to normal. It is so loud it totally scares everyone in the car and it doesn't seem to matter what the volume level was the last time you were in the car. I think it started after I did a software/map upgrade.
Has anyone experienced this?
Loud volume when starting the the engine
Nope, never had that happen on the rare occasion I had left the stereo on before shutting down. But then again, I usually turn everything off in the car before shutting it down.
Is this the Rockford Fosgate stereo you're talking about? Year and model of your car might help.

I saw in another post you were having problems with another feature of the unit. Sounds like there's some issues with it. Maybe try completely killing the power to it overnight to see if your problems self-heal. Other than that, unfortunately, you may need to find a Suzuki service center to see if they can diagnose it. That, or try to find another unit somebody swapped out.

Never had that happen in our 2011 with the RF except when we left it up when turning off the car. That surprise blast that occurs about 15 seconds after the car is started is probably what startles me since I expect it to come on when the car comes on.
