I'm purchasing a new vehicle this week and have a test drive scheduled with the Kizashi tomorrow...and to be honest I have already taken "mental" ownership of the Kizashi as they say. Now the problem, I'm the anal retentive type that puts a screen cover on his iphone before using it, have my laptop in a sleeve when not using it.... hate marks on my golf clubs etc...I enjoy my nice luxuries that I spend my hard earned money on looking new :) . So where I'm going with this, is the paint chip issue simply a foregone conclusion? I really want to purchase a White 2011 AWD Kizashi this week, but this paint issue will drive me crazy! Thanks in advance.

Well this has been my experience. I've had my 2011 AWD SE a little over 2 months. I drive about 65 miles a day mostly highways. I noticed unusually fast chipping withing the first two weeks. Even on the grille. So after a few phone calls to the dealer and Suzuki Corp. They decided to repaint the bumper and fenders and hood. Now what really amazed me was the dealers attititude about the chipping. That is was a natural occurance and it would happen again. Talking to me like I just got my drivers license. Long story short after a week without the car, I get it back and this time I'm prepared with a front end mask. Within a week I had to take it off cause it was wet and the next day I'm right behind a truck towing a backhoe that was rittling the highway with rocks. That's all it took to get a 3-4 mm chip. I consider my self as you said anal and enjoy keeping my nice thing nice, so yeah it was driving me crazy. At this point I'm accepting it for what is and trying to protect the finish as much as possible. Bought the touch up paint, which be aware, if you get the metallic silver like mine, it is impossible to get the paint to look right. So thats the story. Mind you I really love this car, and you probably will too. Maybe yours doesn't chip at all. Just be prepared. And enjoy the ride!

White Kizashi, almost a year old. No significant paint problems, just a couple of small chips on the edge of the rear door sill (passenger side). I used a bit of white rust paint to cover each up, and they're completely invisible from more than a metre now.
