For what its worth, I bought a USB stick for mine from Best Buy, 4GB, and it is tiny, folds down so you can close the console door. It works great....I recall the owners manual stated something about a max of 4GB can be used in the USB port, maybe the stereo wont recognize more than 4GB?....see what the owners manual states.
(I would quote directly by page number from mine but unfortunatly my car is at the dealer having tranny/electronics gremlins worked out :x )

Good luck

Yeah I got an 8gb flash drive... but my problem is that my zune is 120gb and it currently has about 80gb of music... and trying to decide what I want to put on my tiny 8gb flash drive is kinda hard haha... But I'm hoping that with all of my phone calls/emails to suzuki and others as well that they would come out with a hard wired aux input next year or so... But I was reading that VW and Suzuki have combined... sortta.. but if this is the case I'm wondering if maybe something from the jetta would work?!? I need a guy who knows all the technical stuff to further confirm this one!
I'm currently trying to find a 64gb flash drive on e-bay if it works I'll let everyone know

As far as I know VW had little to no involvement in the development of the Kizashi, so I don't think we should expect parts interchangeability.

The Kizashi was partly developed with GM, but when they split the sheets the Kizashi became a 100% Japanese car. Hence, the reason we haven't seen a V6 version. They did have a V6 prototype developed with a GM sourced engine, but that fell through when GM dumped its holdings in Suzuki.

The electronics in the Kizashi are not shared with another automotive manufacture.

OK this topic appears to be 2 years old. Has anyone figured out how to connect a Zune to the Kizashi's radio yet? I Just got a 2012. I'm having the service department repair the USB port(Pins destroyed somehow, but still under manuf. warranty) this weekend. Also if the Zune is not going to work thru the USB port what ended up being the best alternative?

Thanks

I had a Zune as well when I got my Kizashi. But not long after I got my first iPhone. I hate iTunes, but I love the fact that my phone links up with my car's blue tooth and starts playing as soon I start the car! No cords and my audio is all in one place. My phone!

Certain devices aren't supported because they store their files in a weird file system. Check out this post I started a while ago: http://www.kizashiclub.com/forum/viewto ... tem#p17257

When I found out my Android v2.3.4 phone wasn't going to be supported, I went with the flash drive idea. Of course, I only have about 10 GB of music, and a local computer store was having a sale on flash drives around the time that I was looking into the issue($18 for a 32 GB USB 3.0, flash drive heck yes!!)

Some of the replies to my previous thread suggested that I try a Jelly Bean device, which I supposed I could test now that I finally have one. Knowing the file system requirements listed in the above link, something you could try is either getting a humungous flash drive (which I'm assuming your already looking into), or getting an 100 GB external hard drive and formatting it as FAT32. Hard Drive Disk technology has come quite a ways, and most external hard drives are about the size of smartphones now. If you wanted to be really fancy, you could try it using a large solid state drive, but then you'd kind of just have a glorified (and pricey) flash drive.

If my Kizashi did not have Bluetooth, I might consider hooking up one of those little Bluetooth speakers you can now get for $30 or so on sale with the charger in the console. The little storage box is perfectly fitted for storage of one. I do something similar with my 2002 XL-7s. Doesn't use the speaker system, but may be good for some. After I finally figured out how to use the BT, the flash drives are getting little use.
