The PA and Jersey Turnpikes are not scenic.Woodie wrote:Yeah, I had six Metros, that's what made me a Suzuki fanatic. Had a great trip, saw "Metros" ranging from 70 mpg to 150 HP, there were 47 cars there.
Drove like a maniac going out, averaged 63 mph and got 31.5 mpg. Averaged 60 mph coming back, I haven't gotten gas yet, but it looks like about 34 mpg.
PA Turnpike hasn't gotten any better looking, still jealous of bootymac.
I think the best roads on the East Coast are up in Vermont and the Blue Ridge Highway in Virginia and North Carolina, from what I hear. I have not been on either, but want to.
Being from California, I have been all up and down the Pacific Coast Highway which looks a lot like BootyMac's photo in the parts north of San Francisco. I have driven though Oregon as well which has some of the most fantastic scenery in the US in my opinion.
My buddies who rode their Harley's cross country last year told me the ride through Yellowstone National Park was second to none.
