Alignment and rapid tire wear issue.

Just had the car in for its first PA annual state inspection (@14,500 miles) and have fallen victim to this problem as well. Alignment was out pretty far on 3 corners and the inside edges of all 4 tires are pretty worn. They passed, but most likely won't next year. Funny how I never really took notice to the abnormal wear and I've rotated the tires twice myself. I will admit I do the rotation quickly as my floor jacks are prone to bleeding down...just never really took notice.
I should have had the alignment checked by the dealer back when I first commented in this thread dang it! Dealer is attempting to have the regional rep OK the cost of the alignment, but the tires will end up on me prematurely.

16K and my front tires are toast. Ended up ordering 4 new tires and with the 4 wheel aligment sure enough the front end was way out.

I work at a Tire store. I just wanted to say that our local suzuki dealer has sent quite a few kizashi's up to us to warranty the tires. most of the cars have around 12-20k miles. some had 16'', some had the 18''. so far all the cars we did NEEDED an 4 wheel alignment. Goodyear (which owns dunlop) so far has been giving a fair price adjustment to these customers.

Why isnt this a recall yet...!!!
This was the whole reason i bought a brand new car. i didnt want to deal with this at 13 months after owning it!
I have 17,000 on my car. brought it in last night for an oil change and they told me that my front end alignment was off and the insides of my front tires were bad shape.
I was just in 2 months ago for an oil change, and Car-x never noticed or said anything to me about possible alignment! and now all of a sudden its so bad...

And yes i have heard the rattling in the winter. Very annoying. I dont even want this car anymore! i should have gotten the 2011 Chevy malibu i was interested in. instead of this! ugh.

....and I recently rented both a 2010 and 2011 Malibu LT; the Kizashi is far superior as to not even be in the same class as the Malibu.

yup, I too have fell victim to the alignment issue just had mine done @ 21,000 miles
have been to busy to notice the wear but now I could... dang. So lost some mileage on the tires. Maybe we should let new owners/members of this problem? I know, it shouldn't be with new car and all. but it is just seams like just a matter of time before you need a alignment.
So I bought some Coopers zeons at Treadepot.com at a very good deal for me.Will mount them later this year.I live in snow/rain country so I needed some all weather tires.

So what's your point? It's OK because it happens with other imports? I picked up on the issue when I bought the car so I'm lucky. But for those that are now replacing expensive tires after putting out major money on a new car, this is garbage. Suzuki should have a recall out on this - no excuses. There have been way too many complaints for them not to be aware of the problem. They are waiting until their customers have enough miles on the car to void any responsibility at their end - discracefull.

The point is, yes, Suzuki should do a better job of checking the alignment before delivery, but asleep at the wheel counts. YOU have to be responsible for the maintenance of YOUR vehicle. They will not do a recall because it's not a safety issue, it's a maintenance issue.

Should Suzuki do a recall because someone got stranded by a fried motor they never changed the oil in? Hell, no - this is the EXACT same thing. If you are following the required maintenance, the tires should have been rotated a couple times now, and the wear would be noticed and alignment fixed before it was a problem.

So it's the consumers fault for not picking up on the issue? Wow, you must work for Suzuki. Comparing this problem to a guy that never changes his oil is a joke - this car is being sold with out of spec alignment and you are blaming this on consumer neglect? It should not be up to the buyer to pick up on Suzuki errors - that's what a PDI is for. On top of that, the problem is reoccuring - over and over again. Yet they do nothing, not even a service bulletin.
I hope new buyers are reading this - have your car's alignment checked by the dealer at point of purchase - if you don't, they certainly won't. Once your tires are toast, they'll blame you and your neglect. I can hear the service adviser now - "don't you know that import cars are never usually in alignment when you drive them off the lot - how can you be so neglectful?"
