I have 2010 SLS and like a month ago when I start it up car was making squeaky noise like maybe belt was loose. I brought it to dealer and the say everything is ok and told me to warm car up every morning for 10 mins. Next week I dropped car off by dealer because car was still making noise. They told me that the water pump need to be replaced and then need to order part so I can bring it back next week to replace water pump. On the way home I started to hear whistle noise. I opened windows and it was louder. I thought it maybe the water pump. So I dropped car off at dealer to replace water pump. After a day dealer called me and say that the water pump is good but they need to replace alternator because alternator was bad and making that noise. When I pick up my kizashi that noise was gone but whistle noise is still there. I told dealer about it and they say that it is normal. I told them that it is not. I have car when car had 4 miles on it so any little noise I know. But they say is normal and told me that I can get second opinion from different dealer. I notice that the whistle is louder when RPM go up and stops when RPM go to 600. When I accelerate while driving or park car sounds like it is turbo charge. I can hear whistle with windows closed and when RPM go up tu 1500. When I open passenger window I hear it louder. Also when that whistle noise start I notice that a black soot start showing up on exhaust after a day of driving and I never saw that after few weeks of driving. As I say dealer keep telling me that everything is ok and it is normal. That's why I want to ask you guys what you thing and if your kizashi do same. Is that whistle noise have something to do with black soot on exhaust? Please help. Thanks.

I have 2010 SLS with 11000 miles and have never heard anything like a whistle noise, nor have I seen any black soot. I look at the exhaust pipes every other day or so. The car is quiet, albeit with a bit of CVT growl, and clean. Hope that helps.

I did little research on that whistle noise and lots of people say it may be leak in vacuum system. i will try to go to different dealer and see what they will say about it. I recorded a movie and try to catch that whistle noise you guys can check it out. Maybe somebody can record own kizashi and posted here so i can use as a proof that it is not normal. I may call California and see what they say but i need a proof so please guys if you can record it and post here it will help a lot. Thanks.

Check the intake and the air filter - could be a small crack/leak. Perhaps someone opened it up and didn't get everything closed/sealed properly

I can hear it in the vid you posted - since you did that test with the car in Park, get a friend to rev it while you are under the hood. You should be able to pin point it that way. Looks like your idle is solid so I would be surpised if it is a vac leak, especially on the intake side. Listen around the power steering pump and belt, alt - also pull the shroud off the exhaust manifold and listen. The sound could be anything from a bearing / pulley, belt, or exhaust leak. Hope this helps - good luck

You are either sucking air at the filter box or there is a vacume leak. in my experience most (not all dealers) tend to be parts replacers. Document every call you made to the dealer and what they have done and said. In Florida they have three times to correct the problem or face a arbritration board then the lemon law. Had to due this with a Mustang GT back in 1998. had a whistle going from P thru nuetral and them drive. Dealer cound never figure out the problem. Last straw was when the shop formem told me to turn the F ing radio up. Keep good records or dates, time and names and make sure they put on the repair order what the problem was and what they did. Good Luck. No such issues with my 2010 SLS yet with 24K.

So far I looked for any cracks in intake and did not found any crack. Filter is clean and filter box is closed like it should be. The only thing I notice that one of the hose that is connected to intake rubber hose is lose mean I can push it inside and take out completely. I took pict of that and will post it. I show it to the dealer and guy say he will check that when I bring car in on monday. I check my friend kizashi and I can't move this hole and in mine it come in and out. Maybe is that the problem? I bring car to dealer on monday because they did repair last week. Car was making noise like maybe belt was ware down but they say that it is water pump. I left the car for 3 days at dealer to replace water pump and when I pick car up they say water pump was ok and they did replace alternator. Car was ok for 2 days and then nose come back. What kind of noise I am talking about you can check on my dealer suggestion post in performance. I hope that they will fix that problem. Also yesterday I received phone call from suzuki rep from california to find out if the problem was solved. I told them what's up and rep say that monday they will call my dealer and later me to let me know what the deal. The hose in a red circle is the hose that I can pull out or push inside that big black rubber hose. Can this be the whistle problem?

Ok I got some updates about that whistle noise. I went back to dealer and after running different kizashi and than mine they finally say that there ia a whistle noise while accelerate. Dealer say that they want me to get second opinion form different suzuki dealer and they send me there. I got to different dealer and guy there drove car and put in a shop and accelerated. After like 5 minutes guy told me that the whistle noise is coming from alternator that dealer replaced a week before. So I get back to my dealer and told them what other suzuki dealer say. Now I have appointment for tuesday. I will keep update about that and I hope it is alternator and they will fix it. Thanks all you guys for replays.

Wow, this is crazy bro what the dealers are making u go thru. But in that picture where u have the red circle, that cud be it, cuz if something is loose in the intake it will make a whistle sound when revving. So guess u can get that replaced so it wont be loose. You have a 2011 car and i doubt u have more then 30k, the dealer shoulda gave u a brand new car for all the crap they told u... good look man, hope u find whats wrong
