With near 49K on my not-yet 1.5yr old AWD K, my last tank netted 28.5MPG.
My worst tank ever was 24; my best was 31.1. I suggest my average over its life so far to be around 27MPG.
I drive fast....
MPG
Mine just turned 18K, but i have been getting similar mileage since around 2K.ipaqxman wrote:Whats the mileage? I brought it to a suzuki shop regarding the problem of only getting 20 mpg but they blew me off saying nothing they can do n that the car is broken in yet... At 3k and 8 months. They said it will improve at 7k. I don't really believe it.
To remove as many variables as possible, try doing something like this:
Fill the tank just before you get onto a highway. Drive between 55-60 on the highway for as long as you can, at least 100-150 miles would be good. Exit the highway and refill your tank and calculate mileage. If you get under 29 with A/C on , or under 30 with A/C off, then something is wrong. Admittedly unscientific, but a fair test. I have never ever gotten a 20MPG tank in my Kizzy since the day i bought it.

I have been ocd about tire pressure, keeping it at 40.
Yesterday went for a highway drive, cruise control at 70 mph for about 60 miles, average mpg on dash up to 29.7 (still less than what other members getting on highway), but plummets right after i get off highway

Do not rely on the display. Calculate by the gallons used Vs miles driven. If you did that and got 17, then unless you drive like a total douche, something is very wrong.ipaqxman wrote:I have been ocd about tire pressure, keeping it at 40.

If you are in stop and go traffic, speeding from light to light, then 16 is possible. It would have to be a LOT of traffic and you would have to be very heavy on the go pedal to get it down that far. Sounds like you may have something else going on with your Kizzy.

I may be the most unqualified person here to chime in. Just bought a kizashi with 20k miles on it. AWD GTS Sport. I get it on Friday. I did a 25 mile test drive through all back roads on VERY hilly terrain. Relying on resetting the trip avg and using the instant readout on the car when all was said and done, I got 30.2. I would say that most cars trip computers are optimistic by about 2-3 miles per gallon.
On hilly terrain driving conservatively with spurts of speed to test acceleration and handling I would say that 29 MPG would be a fair assesment.

I recently took a trip to Las Vegas, NV @1242 miles, fully loaded trunk, one passenger, AC on the whole time, driving at extra legal speed averaged 29 mpg over 5 tankfuls. I suppose under different circumstances likley could have gotten 29+ mpg. I used to have a 2009 Honda civic Si coupe which got better mileage but it wasn't nearly as nice or as comfortable. It's all about tradeoffs.
