Have been chasing GPS unit from sources as they appear on these pages generally. Nearest unit suitable, as far as I can ascertain, is from my local dealer who sold me the car new. The quoted price via phone was "$A3350 "Installation would not be included in that figure.
Part # 990AA-MULTI-003. The unit features Garmin GPS so should be satisfactory. We are talking Australian sitrep and price is totally out of whack, in my opinion. Can anyone ,Kizashi world-wide, quote me their local price, if they have done the deed, Alternatively, can anyone feed me the Suzuki Japan URL? Cheers Ron Hyams

Hi Ron, have you thought about just buying a double DIN adaptor for the dash and then purchasing an aftermarket GPS capable head unit?

I've been looking into it myself and reckon some of the new Android based double DIN units could be worthwhile. They use the same operating system as the Android smart phones so you can instal whatever applications you want yourself. As an example I've got the Sygic GPS application on my smart phone and it would be perfect for the head unit (cost is under $30 for the application, but there are other free GPS apps out there.) The head units come with WIFI and 3G capability so you can have the same connectivity as your mobile smart phones.

I also posted a link recently to a site in China that makes Kizashi specific rear view cameras - so they should fit straight into the cutout near the boot release button.

BTW I was quoted $1395 for a GPS head unit when I bought my Kizashi new about four months ago. I assumed it was the factory fit option, but apparently not from the prices you've been quoted!?

PS: There's a thread on here where another Aussie member (Minority?) has done the above and fitted an aftermarket double DIN head unit.

Hi David, Thanks for the info you supplied and though it`s obvious that you have the Tech expertise to follow what you were advising, it`s way out of my league. However the info you provided on Eclipse products encouraged me to ring the nearest agent at Essendon . Naturally he had the best product in Aust, according to him, but certainly model avn 827 provided some interesting features ,as did some of the videos. I have left him with my requirements, and return email, so we`ll see. Regards Ron

I'd be interested in hearing the results Ron (although I think the price will be way above my budget!) :)

Hi Guys, Minority here, it was the pricing of $500 just for the suzuki bluetooth option that prompted me to look at (and in the end fit) a cheaper chinese double din unit.
At the time, a couple of years ago when the Kizashi first came out, they were fitting Kenwood units as the "genuine" Suzuki satnav option and the cost was about $4000 + fitting!!! :o

I think that's what I've picked up off Ebay (once the seller gets their act together....) http://www.kizashiclub.com/forum/viewto ... =19&t=2026

For the price I was willing to take the risk on what I was buying.

Minority, you ended up using the Aerpro fascia didn't you? It seems a very good match (colour wise). I've seem some other installs where there's a noticeable colour difference between the dash and fascia (well it shows up in pictures on the internet anyway.)

Yes it was the Aerpro fascia and although the match isn't perfect, it aint bad! I would have used the genuine Suzuki fascia, but was told at several dealers that Suzuki won't supply it as a spare part, not very good customer service.

(great deal on your ebay unit by the way!)
