Just wondering if anyone else has experienced a front end knocking/ thumping noise over sharp bumps? It sounds to me like it's coming from the floor area under the driver or in the front right wheel arch (right hand drive).

It's been there since new, but seems to be happening more recently and only over sharp bumps (large road ruts/ joins in the road etc.) It almost sounds like something is loose- I've had a quick look underneath but couldn't spot anything obvious.

those noises are hard to pinpoint but here is a suggestion - try to narrow where the noise is coming front - for example, front passenger side floor area then put the car on ramps and crawl under an start looking and pulling / shaking under the car for anyting that looks suspicius... good luck.

I have noticed a pronounced creaking/rattling around the rear passenger wheel well. I chalked it up to stuff in the trunk at first but I"m also beginning to believe something in the suspension is loose and/or needs lubricating. I have a free 3,700 mi service coming soon and I'll be speaking to them about it. I'll let you know what they find.

Also, bushings can seperate causing noises such as this. Hard to see this (depending on various designs) with the suspension loaded. If you are truely concerned, take it to a mechanic and have it inspected while on a lift and the suspension is in full droop. Things become a bit more visible inthis configuration. Take the mechanic for a test ride to listen to and feel the issue. good luck.

I'm getting a noise that sounds like it's just behind my front right wheel. Only over very sharp bumps. It's not quiet a knock but it sounds like if I hit something hard enough it might become one. I noticed mine after travelling on unsealed roads for maybe 2-3 hours, had it looked at and they couldn't find anything and said it's probably just a general noise from the suspension that I hadn't noticed before. I'll get suzuki to check it out on my next service though

I believe-but-cannot-prove the 'knock' comes from hitting the bumpstop(s). No actual concern.....

In my case it isn't the bump stops being hit - it will happen over transitions in road surfaces where there is a sharp drop (but only small height difference.)

I had a quick look underneath - I have previously also but looked at the suspension only - and am suspicious as to whether it could be the plastic tray fitted under the floor pan? If I tap it with my hand it is loose enough to make a rattling noise. I think one or more of the fasteners near the sill (plastic nuts?) isn't fully tightened.

I'll have a better look on the weekend.

For the people with the rear end noise it could be worthwhile checking the rear sway bar bushes or perhaps even the exhaust system.

There were at least two of the plastic nuts that weren't fully tightened (one I got ~ 2 turns out of before it seated against the plastic undertray.)

I haven't driven it yet, but it would certainly pay to check if you've got any strange noises as the tray is quite large and runs from the front suspension to the rear suspension. I'll be driving it tomorrow so will post and update.

Definitely quieter now, but still some noise.
