My test drives before Kizzy were:

-- Mitzi Evo X in oriental red (YUM)
-- Subaru Legacy
-- Jeep Compass (also with CVT) which is the 2.4 engine spec - see link below
-- Audi TT Quattro
-- Audi A3, A4 and A5

They all were more expensive than Kizzy, for the initial purchase. Insurance - honestly? Not too different to Kiz, in fact, I find insurance of Kizzy not that cheap, if the lowest band was 1 and the highest, 10, Kizz is about 7.

Even though my test cars were more expensive that Kiz, NONE tested were brand new like my Kizashi is (all had maximum 5.000 miles on clock) The only one that matched a lot of Kizzy spec was the Jeep Compass, and that is way more expensive than Kiz in UK

So bang for buck is Massive on the Kizashi

A lot different here for insurance. I'm on the wrong side of 40yo with the best insurance rating (only one at fault claim in my entire life) and below are figures from the company I'm insured with:
2013 Kizashi Sport AWD $54.33 / month
2013 WRX AWD sedan $109.41 / month
2013 Evo sedan $138 / month

So a WRX would be costing me over twice the price of a Kizashi Sport, the Evo even more!

The insurance for our 2012 Kizashi Sports AWD was same/similar to many other sports car like the Toyota GT86 and WRX.

The Kizashi cost us $150/ month.

But that is because both my wife and I are under 25.

Everyone keeps coming up with a similar list of car choices...most were on my list too...!
But we do all come back to the realities of value for money and long term costs!

The insurance on our car, we being also over 40 and having a few other cars insured with the same company was only $415 a year...we couldn't believe it when they told us. Maybe the car, being not that common yet, has a low claim history, who knows.

It is quite funny that we have all test driven so many simular cars....My list ( for the more recent ones) included:-
Impreza - very sluggish motor
XY - nice - but same motor as the impreza
Sub liberty - in the 2.5 and the 3.6 - nice - but not any thing that grabbed me enough to say "wow this is the car"
New Ford ST - nice kit inside -looks great -but not all that comfortable for a 40 something female!! my boyfriend hated it - said he couldnt sit in the seats properly. Drove well -but too small for kids in the back.
Ford Kuga - kick arse engine - but high fuel costs and a new model coming out in a few months - so depreciation big time!
Ford mondeo - turbo diesel - a bit of a lag before it starts to kick in - and -"its a ford"
BMW X1 - really heavy steer - and costly to run
Mazda 6 - the new one - just a little bit too big - and I didn't find the interior any different to the new cx5 - which my boyfriend drives
Vw GTI - awesome handling car - but new model coming out -so cheap finance deals - but if you dig deeper the service costs just get worse -and people say stuff like "get rid of it before the warranty runs out" One service cost was around $1800.
Thats the ones I can think of over the last month or so.
But I to got into the Kizashi -drove it and loved it - first up. Came back grinning. : )
