Hey guys,

So after detailing my car and applying OptiCoat, it looks amazing after a quick wash.

My troubles begin within a few hours as dust starts collecting on the paint :(

Any good tips on how to get rid of the dust without having to wash again?

My friend told me about the California car duster but I am not sure if it will leave swirl marks.

Most dust this time of year is tree pollen.
Best to leave it on until a water wash, black will show every little scratch or swirl.

+1 totally agree.

I have a black Kizashi as well and know exactly how you feel.
But I've learnt to leave dirt and dust alone until the next wash.
The only thing I remove immediately are bird/bat droppings, as they will eat through your clear coat.

Wiping the dusty surface will scratch the paint. Maybe not as severe the first or second time, but eventually with time, it will show more and more.
If you're already dusting it after a few hour, you'll be tempted to dust it almost every morning.

Some paint protection systems have a gloss enhancer in the form of a spray bottle.
Some might have anti-static properties... check with Opticoat. Apply after each wash.
Might help in reducing the severity of dust attracting to the surface.

Damn that sucks! I guess I will have to learn to live with it.

I have been applying Optimum Instant Detailer and Gloss enhancer after every wash, it helps a little but the dust is relentless.

I have learned that I cannot see my car whilst driving it.

So I can ignore its outer appearance, ay?

The only solution is to never buy a black car again! I owned one way back in 1988 - never again.....

Black cars are like roses; they have their eloquent beauty, but demand handling with care.

I like black cars because black is my favorite color, but it's also a classy color for a car. It makes any car look a little more upscale, in my opinion. Maybe it's because nearly all high end luxury cars and limos are black.
Yes, it's a real pain to keep clean and looking that way, but once it is clean, there's no rival to the gloss on black.

I agree that pollen is the main problem right now. My black car is covered in it. I really hate not having a garage.

The other Kizashi color I really like is the Ice Blue Metallic. Maybe because the color is rare or maybe it's because the first Kizashi I ever saw in person was that color and left an impression on me.

Agreed, black cars demand respect and can change a cars look completely.

Maintenance is a pain but when clean it is well worth it.
