So I was talking about reliability in another thread and yesterday my fog lights weren't working..so I thought. I was thinking great the irony then I pulled into my garage and boom they are on! I realize they are tied to the auto headlights. Never had a car do that.
It got me to thinking how I really don't care for fog lights and the features that were important to me. I always like steering wheel controls for the radio and now Bluetooth. I was wondering what features the community find important or good. It doesn't have to be just in our cars either.
Most important features to you?
In order of importance for me..
1. Cruise control (a must where I live)
2. Steering wheel controls for radio
3. Fold down rear seat passthrough. Extra cargo space is always useful.
And that's pretty much it for the extra features that I really need.
As for everything else that would be nice but not a deal breaker..
1. Auto headlights. Can live without, but nice in any case.
2. Foglights. Rare that I really need them, but nice to have when I do.
3. Leather seats. Look great and smell nice, but cloth can be more comfortable year round.
4. Moonroof. Nice to have when weather permits, but in past cars I've had issues with leaking, stop opening/closing or simply wind noise/rattling.
5. Heated seats. Nothing more than a rarely used luxury where I live.
6. AWD. There are only 2-3 days a year where it would come in handy, but I usually try to stay off the road altogether if that's the case. For me it would just be added weight/complexity most of the time.

Now that I've had the car for over 2 years, and occasionally drive other cars... here's my list:
(in no particular order)
1. Cruise Control on steering wheel (not on a stalk)
2. HID
3. Push Start and the whole keyless convenience
4. Climate control
5. Leather seats

Since I live in the midwest I would have to add AWD. While not needed, it definitely makes a difference for getting up some hills and some slick roads. I will also add in auto headlights since it stops me from having to worry aout playing with them.
Manual transmission in higher trims.
The fact that a 6 speed manual was offered in a GTS (a model for my model year with a moonroof, power driver seats, Rockford Fosgate stereo, etc.) was what sealed the deal.
We are now in an age where manuals are getting phased out, especially among midsize cars like the Kizashi. For example, you can ONLY get the new Nissan Altima with a CVT.
After finding out I could have high-end features yet primitively still row my own gears in a Kizashi is what got me driving one today.
Other than the man. trans, I gotta say I love the 425 watt RF stereo. For a factory stereo in a car of its class, it is one kick-ass system.
Push button start with key-less entry is also nice. There are many features to like about this car, but the 6 speed, 3 pedal offering and the RF sound system are my favs.

1. Fully adjustable power seat with memory. A must for me to get comfotable. I didn't get the Kiziashi I really wanted, a 2012 6MT because of the seat. I "settled" for a 2011 SLS CVT.
2. Bluetooth for both phone and streaming music. I'm one of those who know my driving attentivness erodes whan I have phone up to my ear.
3. Steering mounted controls. They just gotta be on the wheel.
4. Ronco Auto climate contorol. Love to set it and forget it.
5. RF sound system. It kicks!
6. Paddle shifters. When you want to have fun, you have to go manual!
7. Keyless entry and start. I like it but I'm still not used to it!
