Instead of spending money on a new set of rims, I thought I'd try plasti dipping them in matte black. Here's the result. However, I'm still 50/50 about the look. Your thoughts, comments (good/bad)?
It looks good (and I'm not normally a fan of black wheels.) Would the centre caps and nuts being black improve it - photoshop it for an experiment perhaps?
PS: The black ties in with the window surround trims, so it certainly doesn't look "out of place".
I put the chrome strip beneath the doors myself. I've also put a strip at the bottom of the boot lid for added effect. Will post some proper pics later. Yeah, at first, I was going to plasti dipped the centre cap and nuts as well, but decided against it. Now I think the wheels look better with the contrast.
Hey Murcod, thanks for the effort (and your boredom!?)! I must admit, the wheel looks good with everything blacked out. Can't decide between the 2! As a matter of fact, still weighing up whether to plasti dip the other 2 wheels! (Yes, at the moment only 2 wheels have been done). I'll just wait and see how the plasti dip stand up when I take my car to the car wash.
Cheers!

Hey, no problems. You'd really need to buy black chrome nuts to do it- the Plastidip wouldn't last a split second once you tried to tighten them. Try Amazon.com and look at Gorilla brand, I got some from there a while back but have stuck with the factory chrome nuts (my wheel plans changed!)
I had a good chuckle at the different colours each side. I've done that before and really nobody is ever likely to notice.
PS: I guess you could spray the nuts once fitted and redo them as required?
