Hi again, so since I am still fixing my car, I have a dent in the shock absorber rear from previous owner.

Anyway, my question is... Anyone have any different shocks that they bought from a provider other than the dealer? A Site would be nice. I looked for shocks and no one sells any or carry them in local auto stores... Only dealer. If you know any hit this forum up! :!:

As discussed on the other Suzuki forum http://www.suzuki-forums.com/suzuki-kiz ... tions.html and here http://kizashiclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=18569 , there are KYB shocks made. However, as you've got the GTS model (with the lowered suspension and upgraded shocks?) it might be best to stick with purchasing OEM from a dealer IMHO.

Although there's no reason why the KYB's wouldn't fit - and they're listed as fitting all models of Kizashi. http://showmetheparts.com/kyb/ Worst case, the valving of them mightn't be as firm and your handling wouldn't be quite as good.

PS: It's important to replace shocks in pairs too.

@murcod thanks for the information. Shocks on http://showmetheparts.com/kyb/ seem like they have it, but I can't find the product itself... It just pops up a window with information but nothing more... strange.

That site is KYB's on line catalogue - not a store. Any KYB retailer should be able to help- or Google the part number.

FWIW, I have read in 3rd party reported specs that the factory shocks, on the GTS and SLS at least, actually are KYB shocks. Much like it is reported that the brake components are Akebono which is a fact.

The aftermarket KYB version are quite likely a different internal construction or valved differently from the OEM spec. You wouldn't want to buy one and "mix and match"- it's a bad idea to do that even with identical shocks due to the wear that takes place. It can have undesirable effects on handling (I experienced that recently on an old vehicle I'm restoring- the previous owner had replaced one shock and the other side was the original 1971 shock absorber! The behaviour over undulating roads was unnerving.)

Cant wait till more performance shocks are made like from Tokico or Bilstien.. I want my suspension to be still.. They really need to make coilovers!! lol

If KYB shocks are OEM on Kizzys then it shouldn't be hard to find them. O'Rileys (auto store in the USA) also suggest Gas shocks from KYB. So I'm guessing they're your best bet for the kizzy.

I googled KYB with the part # 349141 and no luck!!!!

I have a feeling these won't be readily available. There doesn't seem to be any aftermarket replacements either. You might have to contact KYB directly or just buy from the dealership
