My concern at this point is that the lack of information may indicate, much like everything else anymore, the CVT trans is disposable. That coupled w/ the fact that any time there's any problems, the thing is just swapped out. Life beyond the warranty period is no concern for most manufacturers anymore. Can't sell new cares and keep shareholders happy by making things last too long now. Draining and refilling at this point seems to be the only preventative maint. to be done.

This is the CVT in the Kizashi. It's made by JATCO and apparently is the same model used in the Mitsubishi Outlander and the Nissan Murano.

If it's the same trans as used in the Murano / Elgrand why do RRM seem to say the CVT can't handle their turbo conversion's torque? Haven't they both got largish V6 engines?

In the US the Murano gets the beefier jf010e to go with its v6. Here it is / was used in the Nissan Sentra, 2.5L Altima, and Rogue, the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Caliber, Compass and Patriot. Along with the Mitsubishi and Suzuki 2.0-2.5L CVT vehicles

Why no, I have not.

I HAVE discussed it with my Service Advisor, and we decided that based on MY personal 'driving style', MY 2011 AWD Kizashi S has been tossed / flung / flown / slammed / nearly inverted, and there is no chance of any cornered deposits of sludge in my JATCO

I'll do a PF in the spring when I have more money, simply to replace the fluid.
