Guess you did.
Oh well, next time up there - you buy the first beer. I will be easy to spot - Silver Kizashi with the "Bad cop - no Donut" bumper sticker with NC plates.
And what is wrong with donuts and beer - did you ever watch Strange Brew (now I got all the Canadian forum members mad at me also)?
MOVED: Kizashi acceleration - interesting note
I tried that, as well as starting in manual shift mode in 1st, with no noticeable difference. I think the 0-15 mph lag is due to the setup of the CVT (a product of a relatively high lower gear ratio I believe). But after that, note the below.jimmerz wrote:Do you think turning off the traction control will get the tires spinning? Not that I personally care, but just wondering...
I found some interesting postings on optimum shift points. This is the point where the torque and hp delivered to the rear wheels in the next gear is equal/greater to the torque that the current gear has declined to. This usually happens around the peak engine hp RPM.
With a CVT, it gets to that point as soon as possible, then holds it as it constantly varies the effective gear ratio as speed increases. You may have noticed the RPM going up to 5800-5900 under full throttle and staying there. That is why some posters have noted how "buzzy" the CVT cars are - it goes up to this range (which is pretty noisy) and stays there.
With manual shifting, you go up and down the RPM range in each gear, and it only gets noisy at the shift points.
For best acceleration with the CVT, however, this implies that the fully auto mode should beat out manual CVT shifting, as the auto mode locks it in at its optimum power RPM and holds it there.
Nope not a rabbit off the start , but after 20-25 mph .. whoa baby, watch that spedo u be doing 60+ down town.lol (feels slower then you are going) got keep revs up, just keep foot in it a bit longer. love passing on highway, push down, bye bye.

I know this is an older post but just to add my experience.
I notice the engine lug at take off, but the economy concerns me more. But what did impress me was when I was getting going up an on-ramp. I had to beat another vehicle to change lanes. Wow, I was not expecting the surge I got from the car. I was at 80 before I knew it and hitting the beaks just to keep from plowing into another vehicle. I was happy to know it could move like that.
