My uncle-in-law is in very tight with Maruti-Suzuki in India, so I can probably get anything as long as I have a part number. 8-)
A member in India has confirmed in the past that top spec Indian Kizashis have HID. However, I've heard that the Kizashi was discontinued in India due to dismal sales.
It has been. :( I only saw one or two ever when I last visited there, and because it's a CBU (complete built unit) aka direct Japan import, it has a 100% import duty. That's right--$40-60k USD.

If you have a way of getting the part numbers/pictures of everything, I can check to see if it would even be possible for us here in the US to source the part. 8-)

Below is the link to the JDM Kizashi accessory catalog from Suzuki. On page 6, as Item 69, there are HID bulbs for sale. From what I can read, they are merely selling the HID bulbs and I believe they are just upgraded bulbs for cars with a HID headlight. No mention of actually converting a non-HID to HID. I need to doublecheck with someone who can read Japanese better than I can.

Don't forget the head light beam patterns for LHD and RHD vehicles are different.

PS: There's a HID equipped Kizashi Sport at the wreckers about 15km from me- the head lights are not smashed either. But it is RHD.

Very true about the LHD/RHD. It was interesting to see all the variations explained in my Corvette's factory service manual. The European headlights had a much different pattern too.

But if you've got an OEM HID kit waiting for you, what are you waiting for? No, on a more serious note, it would be interesting to get pictures to see where the differences may lie between the two types of headlights.

I'm sure a LHD version of the HID was also produced as there are areas in Europe that are LHD. But it's probably even more rare than the RHD. :(

I can't read Japanese at all, but the pictures remind me of an upgraded Halogen bulb. You sure that's an HID upgrade?

The RHD versions would give you a great indication of the part numbers though.

I don't think sourcing these would be a problem since they'd just be 'domestic' parts in India. The LHD Euro spec ones are what would be tough.

And while I'm sure there is some sort of 'global reference chart' there in Suzuki Japan for all the headlight part numbers, I'm sure that one market can't easily discover parts for another market since normally that would just cause confusion and mis-ordering.

Yes, it says "Discharge headlamp bulb" and also goes to describe that it's a D2S type. D2S bulbs are a type of OEM HID bulb. HID kits don't use these types of bulbs because they are conversion kits from halogen bulbs like H7, H4, etc. Kits basically have HID bulbs with a base shaped like the halogen bulb they are to replace. D2S bulbs are dedicated OEM HID bulbs and are shaped differently at the base.
This is why I also think it's merely a bulb replacement and not some headlight conversion they are selling.

Interesting about the bulb types. Are there actually 'upgrade' bulbs to the normal bulbs? Where would someone even find a replacement bulb for HIDs? I don't think I've ever seen them in a store.

I've seen them sold in stores, especially in Japan. I think most people here get them fixed at the dealership since they are not as cheap to fix as halogens. HID systems also have warning labels to scare owners of high voltage. Owner manuals tell people to get them replaced at the dealership. The bulbs themselves can cost over $100.

Reputable online sellers also sell D2S bulbs like the retrofitsouce.com
