Looks nice, but isn't your parking light where your high beam should be?

DRLs and high beams are the same bulb (H7) which I already replaced with bright white light (5000k).

But when low beam is on, DRL(H7 bulb) switches off and this little nipple like bulb (w5w) lights up.

Ooh, so that's a dim white incandescent. I thought it was amber like a turn signal.

Finally installed them myself! Took 2-3 hours as we had some troubles along the way but in the end im happy. The ballasts were mounted in the engine bay but i found good places where they wont move and aren't too visible when you look in.
Changed the parking lights too.

I'll post pics later. It's only 3pm here so with all this daylight they don't look very impressive yet lol can't wait til night time!

What about heat buildup from the ballasts? They appear to be pretty heavily heatsinked. I'd hate to melt down part of that headlamp assembly during an all night drive.

I thought about that and did a little test before my install. I have the same HIDs in my Redline so I ran them for 20 minutes and didn't find they got anything more than luke warm. So, I'm not concerned about heat buildup, at least not with the type of Ballasts on my HIDs.

Thundersky,

What type of HID kit did you use? Also, not being familiar with HID systems, does the projector housing get significantly hotter with the HID's in? I know they look awsome. How's your experience been so far?

The brand I used is RTX, and I'm running 3 sets of these on different cars without any issues of heat buildup.
In fact I'v been running 2 of the sets on my Redline for 2 years now, no issues at all.
