Even with the nannies disabled the car is still a joy to drive through our fer-shitz winter weather.
It does take a bit more attention and concentration with them off.
I can do it.
The Contis are holding up, but lack the ultimate ice grip of studded or Blizzaks, but they allow speeds in excess of 110MPH.
I look forward to re=-nabling the nannies, just so I can experience the difference again......

This was the only reason I was considering the Michilin xice3s, but the 99mph limit of the Altimaxs hasn't been an issue, even on a trip from MKE to HSV and back in <36hrs.

Which I need
Yikes. With the speeds you're driving, I'd definitely opt for an H or V rated tire. Much better handling and safer since they're constructed stronger to avoid sidewall deflection.
You can actually feel the sidewall deflection on the artics. At highway speeds in temps above 50, it makes the kizashi handle like a 2004 dodge grand caravan (we have one, so I know exactly what that feels like).

Yeah, I had the same tires on an old beater before and it almost felt like the sidewalls were rolling over when I took corners a bit hard

I rollover every tire I drive on unless they're aired up to almost max pressure or have nice and stiff sidewalls.
