No Flash - my phone doesn't cope with the bright light levels - so ignore the black lines.

If you don't stare at the cover (have a quick glance) it looks like the bottom two pics. If you have some crazy desire to blind yourself (ie. intently stare at the cover) it looks more like the two pics where my phone spacked out and added the black lines in- you can see the outline of the pattern the LED's are laid in.

PS: It is a lot brighter than the stock single T10 incandescent bulb.

Thanks for the prompt response and the photos! The dome light looks good. Did you go with the 3200K version of this LED? http://dx.com/p/dianzi-t10-2w-180lm-9-s ... vriufldWg0

Do you happen to have pictures of the map lights as well?

I'm thinking of using these LEDs for the front dome and map lights but I'm worried the beam angle isn't wide enough to illuminate the entire cover: http://dx.com/p/t10-5w-400lm-4-led-whit ... vrjJvldWg0

Yes, 3200k version - I hate the blue tinge of the 6000k LED's.

It's hard to say what that bulb would be like. Going by the lumen rating it should be extremely bright. IMHO the side projecting LED's will be of little use (for both map and dome) due to the design of the bulb holders. It will also have a narrow beam as you said- good for the map lights but possibly not the dome- for the dome you want want the wide beam spread. I think 5050 LED's on the bulb I've got have a 50% output at an angle of 120 degrees. You might also need to watch the heat build up with it in the dome light, it may not last long? Map lights normally aren't on as long so it should be okay.

Of course the pics look dimmer than in real life. Taken inside a darkish garage with no flash on. It's very bright in the cabin with all three on. The map light Cree's are a nice pure white too - no noticeable blue tinge.

Thanks again, those pictures are very helpful!

I found another set of LEDs that appear to have a wider beam angle. I'll order a pair first for the map lights but I'll also try them in the dome light and see how it looks. If it works well, I'll order more. Thank you DX free shipping!

The picture is a bit blue because it's of another bulb but with the same construction.

I also have this going into the rear dome:

I know others have said the rear dome is 36mm but I verified that it's 31mm on my Kizashi. Odd

I have one similar to that in the rear dome, and you can definitely see the "hot spot" .... Car illumination is BRIGHT though!

I can't wait until the other auto manufacturers do what Audi did in the A8 and just go with all LEDs from the factory.

So I installed the LED in the rear dome light and I'm on the fence. It's definitely brighter and the "hot spot" is similar to the halogen bulb. The light is also very white without any blue tones.

However, I'm just not sure if I like white lighting inside the Kizashi's cabin. Something about the coolness of the white output gives off a very cheap feel compared to the warm halogens.

This is ironic considering I really like the white LEDs in my GTI. I believe this is because the diffusers on VWs are "crystallized" which better suits the LEDs:

Anyway, I'll be sticking to halogens inside. Guess I'll have to find other uses for the LEDs I bought

 I'm hearing you on that one. All of my interior LED's are warm white (except for the map lights - which are hardly ever on.) ;)

Also, how the hell did you fit a 36mm bulb in the rear dome!? My 31mm bulb is ready to pop out
