The abrasive materials in DA-specific compounds break down into smaller and smaller "pieces" as you polish to prevent burning through the paint coat. Hand polishes probably don't do this and stay abrasive which makes hand polishing easier, but it'd be too aggressive for your paint using it on a DA machine polisher

That was my guess too. It would make sense that hand-applied compound and polish would be more aggressive since they aren't applied with machinery.
I'll try these hand-applied products first since I already have them and see from there.
Regardless, I think I'll get a D/A polisher in the future and when I do, use suitable products.

Went to see my slowly dying Kizashi at the dealer in the Bronx.

My harnesses for the capacitors finally arrived from VLEDS. They first sent me capacitor harnesses without H7 connections on both ends, just one. They took their time with sending me the necessary H7 connector, but these capacitor harnesses are new with them and I'm sure I'm their first customer ordering H7 versions given they told me they had to custom-make them for me.
I will install these this weekend to see if the capacitors eliminate the flickering problem with the LEDs while in DRL mode.

I also tested my old low beam HID system that I had before I replaced them with Morimoto HIDs. I replaced the whole kit when one side went out because I wanted a better kit.
However, with HID kits, you need to determine whether the failure was the bulb or the ballast. I decided to do this once the kit was removed from the car to see if I can reuse the ballasts.
The simple test I did once the kit was removed was to hook it up to a 12 volt jump starter. I connected the positive terminal clamp to the positive wire that goes to the ballast. Negative to the negative. I used lead wires I bought at HFT since the jumper's clamps were too big.
In this fashion, I tested both ballasts and both bulbs and determined it was a bad bulb, not a ballast. I plan to reuse these good ballasts in my fog lights since one of the fog light ballasts appears to perform differently from the other, causing a difference in color output.

Given my bumper is coming off for the LED capacitor harness install, I'm going to swap fog light HID ballasts then as well.
I will discuss these topics more in detail in their respective threads once the installations are done.

Here's a picture of how I tested the HID kit. You can test LED and halogen bulbs in this fashion as well.

I believe the police incorrectly towed his Kizashi when they got it as evidence. His car was hit by a bullet in a shoot-out. The cops towed his car to get a bullet out from the door. Krell is now seeing that his tierod is damaged and it's most likely from when the cops towed the car.
I feel so sorry for Krell and his car. :(

While you have the bumper off, let's see how the LEDs would work as low beams in the projectors.

I won't be doing that because of the time it will take to properly get some good comparisons. I'd basically have to take off the bumper, headlights, swap the bulbs, re-install everything, test drive at night, take photos, and then undo everything to accomplish what I originally wanted to do. It's simply not worth it especially since despite everyone's curiosity (and mine too), it's well documented in other sites and reviews that LED bulbs aren't great in projectors. Keep in mind I know this because I did quite a bit of research in other forums, websites, and even contacted VLEDS directly before I decided to get the LED conversion kit. They all pretty much say to avoid putting the LEDs in projector lenses.
Hypothetically, even if the LEDs worked well in the Kizashi's low beam projectors, I'd still have my Morimoto HIDs in there as low beams and the LEDs as DRL/Highs for the reasons I've discussed in the thread related to this topic.

That being said, I'm not opposed to merely switching the bulbs without driving the car, but I'd be doing this during the day in my driveway so the output difference between HID and LED won't be noticeable in photographs, making any uploaded photos rather worthless for people to see and compare.
