That's what I was thinking. Things were different for Suzuki in the USA in 2011.bootymac wrote:Interesting read. I wonder what the process would've been like since Suzuki's departure...Ronzuki wrote:Good read from a guy who is (was) the ultimate Suzuki fan:

Warranty Worth
I have a ticking noise coming from what might be #2 (or #3) on our Kizashi that's been there for a while. I've got my stethoscope, so after reading that thread, I'm a bit panicked and am going to see if I can do a good listening session today.
I'll need the wife's help for keeping the rpms in a certain range that it's more pronounced in since we don't have a cable accelerator, and getting her help is going to be my biggest challenge.

Being fanatics about the Samurai (realize that's not enough), the good experiences with the vehicles/brand over many, many years and the fact that the cars being sold here were again Japanese built. The SX4's growing popularity....things looked to be on a positive swing in 2008-09. We just kept hoping. Samurais are getting too hard to find even in less than 1/2 decent shape anymore, making them hard to keep road worthy as daily drivers (many still do though). Just hoping for a more reliable solid axle alternative to the Wrangler I suppose, for those of us that prefer that type of transportation.KuroNekko wrote: Ah, I see. However, what made him think Suzuki was ever going to import the Jimny?
Back to the warranty worth...I had zero trouble getting my rear shocks replaced under the 3/36 b2b warranty. I think it's pretty clear, much of it depends on where you go for the service and that facility's relationship with Suzuki (past and present).

I listened to the ticking. It did sound like it was coming from the block in the cylinder that's 2nd from the passenger side.SamirD wrote:I have a ticking noise coming from what might be #2 (or #3) on our Kizashi that's been there for a while. I need to do an oil and filter change and see if it gets better. It did last time. I do have a lot of fuel smell in the oil, which might indicate something.
What's the mileage on your Kizashi and what's your oil change interval? Also, what motor oil are you using?SamirD wrote:I listened to the ticking. It highlights the great fun and great risk of Samurais. However, as usual, it's 100% the fault of the idiotic driver.

hahah lol...third times a charm! COG waay too high, sitting on pizza cutters on stock BS'd rims combined w/ driving like an idiot (maybe he thought he was in a Kizashi). The beauty of it is they all could easily roll it back on to all-fours and continue on their merry way. (until they flipped it over a rail and tumbled down the revene that is).

I think it's just over 32,200 and I've changed it once since we've owned it since October. About every 6 mos. We bought it with 28,800 on it so going by miles wouldn't really work for us.KuroNekko wrote:What's the mileage on your Kizashi and what's your oil change interval? The original motor oil that was in the car by the previous owner was Mobil 1 with a Mobil 1 filter (same one you use). It had just been changed the day before I looked at the car, so you can use 28,800 for the change mileage.
After that was the dealership which gave a free oil change with Napa premium conventional oil in a purple bottle as well as a Suzuki filter. I have a case of these that was part of the free oil changes as well as three more Suzuki filters. I'm going to see if I can exchange it for some better oil, even if only a few quarts of it. I plan on using the Suzuki filters (as you probably guessed

The biggest problem has been where to do the work on it. There's no really good place to work on the car in MKE, and I'm not letting anyone else do it, that's for sure.
Let us know if there are any improvements. You indicated before that the noise went away after the last oil change and attributed it to the use of an OEM filter. This suggests that oil plays a much more critical roleSamirD wrote:I listened to the ticking.
