Not too much, I did a performance chip, Upsolute IIRC, larger brakes, beefer clutch and lighter flywheel. But that was going back 12 years. My next VW will be the current gen Golf/GTI. It's an amazing car, but the Kizashi will fill in until I'm ready. I'll wait for it to be in production a couple of years.
I'm in the same boat. Holding onto my Mk4 until the Mk7s come down in price. Hard to justify new car prices after buying the Kizashi

Please ignore my previous comment. According to American Suzuki Motor Corp section of Suzuki's Wikipedia page, they've constantly sold cars in the US market from 1985-2012.

I didn't realize that American Suzuki Motor Corp. is the entity that sells all Suzuki vehicles in the US whether they be cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATV's, or watercraft. So even though they've filed for bankruptcy and stopped selling cars, they're still selling other small vehicles in the US. I assumed when I heard American Suzuki was filing for bankruptcy, they were liquidating the company, and the small vehicles division was a separate entity or something. Apparently, that's not the case.

Perhaps they'll decide they want to try selling cars again in the future, and hopefully a new Kizashi will be among them.

Suzuki motorcycles are rather popular and are highly praised in the US. My motorcycle-riding friends tell me they are the performance motorcycle brand among the Japanese brands. Not surprisingly, models in the GSX-R series are popular with street bike riders.

Sadly, I don't think Suzuki automotive will come back to the US market any time soon. The only way I see that happening is if the US becomes more interested in small cars and subcompacts as that's what Suzuki's international niche is. Personally, I think they gave up on North America for good and will focus more on China.
