So Why The Kizashi
I test drove an SX4 and saw the Kizashis on the lot but thought they were out of my price range. Wasn't thrilled with the SX4 and eventually had a chance to drive a Kizashi and thought I might be able to get a deal due to the pull out. After the test drive I knew it was for me, played my cards right, and bought a 2013 SE in January 2013. Haven't regretted it.
My wife's job took us from the convenient mass transit of NYC to the frozen tundra of MKE. While I have plenty of cars, none are AWD, so I was planning on getting a cheap $4k Subaru. But the wife said no. She wanted navigation, bluetooth and all the bells and whistles.
We really couldn't afford a new car, so I started sourcing well-kept Subaru Legacies. Even found one that fit the bill and she enjoyed the drive. But it was just too much at almost $20k.
So one night I was browsing autotrader for anything awd under $15k and saw some listings for an awd Kizashi. Knowing my wife has an sx4 in India and how big Suzuki is there, I asked her, 'What's this?' I saw a light, light up inside her as she told me the story of how she almost bought one of these for her mom. So I started looking and happened to find one within our budget that was pretty close by. I picked it up 2 days later.
And after building a winter tire set and decoding the tpms mystery on the car, it's a firm addition to the fleet. It was supposed to be my wife's car, but I actually am more fond of it than her--maybe because I'm an enthusiast though.
