148,261 miles (been drivin' wife's CR-V mostly), and yes, when the car was started at that there Mobil station the cruise control activated again.
Good; I use it often.

Everything -mostly- is holding up fine fine fine.
Things like its paint, underbody panels, and front fender liners are damaged from my personal driving style.
The interior remains perfect, except I broke the center console latch spring (it still latches), and a mechanic broke the seat height adjuster.
EVERYTHING still works.
CV joints starting to make a little noise......

I wanted Bluetooth and HD radio so I bought an aftermarket kit from crutchfield for $150 and installed it myself. Also bought the steering wheel adapter from ebay for $50.KansasKid wrote:So apparently, they added Bluetooth to the SE's in 2013. Both cars listed above have the Bluetooth buttons. I'm not sure if the 2012 SE's had Bluetooth as well. I wish Azumi had Bluetooth.
At 148,972 miles, 1/13/15 --oldest daughter turned 30!-- I had my oil changed.
Took a look underneath; plastics still attached, flex joint getting frayed (NBD). BUT, left rear shock is showing signs of oil spray.
Estimate (before discount) for both rears including mounts, $850.
Ouch.
I'll be perusin' our site here for more info before I decide what to do.

KYB replacement shocks can be purchased from Rock Auto for ~$50 each. The revised bump stops, if you care for them, are ~$35 each. Otherwise, you can reuse your old ones.
Labor is pretty straightforward. I wouldn't pay more than $100 to swap the shocks.

My flex joint is frayed too from running over a parking block covered by snow last winter. It's really no big deal given it's just a protective cover for the actual pipe.WESHOOT2 wrote:At 148,972 miles, 1/13/15 --oldest daughter turned 30!-- I had my oil changed.

If I were you, I'd buy the shocks from rockauto.com given they are going for $46.79 each. You have a non-Sport model so these should be your correct shocks. After all, these are even the OE shocks (KYB GR2). I'd also order the countermeasure bump stoppers from a Suzuki parts site and new hardware like the bolts given your mileage.
I'd personally install them myself, but you could otherwise take them to a mechanic and just supply the parts. This should end up costing you about half that estimate you got.
I did something similar when my Mazda's front wheel bearings went out and the dealer wanted close to $850 to replace them. I paid less than half of that via the rockauto.com and local shop route.

Exactly the kind of advice I appreciate.
The above suggested plan mirrors my current thinking (already had scoped out those shocks from RA

Only concern is what replacing the possibly corroded upper mounts entails.......
