What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my recollection is that if you remove the air filter box, the driver side headlight is more accessible. I could be wrong given I always take off the bumper to deal with the headlights. On that topic, I strongly suggest you guys get HIDs for the low beams. They offer better performance than halogens and longer life too. Just make sure to get a quality kit if you go this route.

The driver's side one is the pain to change and will require the bumper cover coming off. Since the high-beams aren't aimed too high, that's what we've been using since both our low beams burned out moons ago. :(

Drove from MKE to HSV and back. Only one oddity along the way--the tpms system light came on at one point and stayed on for over an hour before it just shut off on its own. Weird.
How often are your low beam bulbs dying?

I'm going to swap both low beams when I change it today. Went for some Sylvania XtraVision bulbs as I don't really want to spend more than $30 on bulbs.

I had considered HIDs, but can't take the time to wait for them to come in (not sure if Mr Officer will be waiting for me to drive past again with that light out again). Seems like a summer project if they decide to go out again.

If you were asking me bootymac, this is the first bulb I've had go out on me. The high beams and fogs I just switched to yellow because I like the GT look yellow gives.

Drove to another car meet up in the morning. A few Corvettes, lots of Mustangs, a couple Porsches, some nice Mercedes (including an SLS AMG Black!), a Lambo Aventador among others; even some bikers showed up with a few Hyabusas.

Assisted a friend install some HID headlights in his car, now I'm wondering if I want to do that with the Kizashi. It's a little more involved than I really want to get and the only true issue I have with the halogens is the time it takes to replace them when they go out.

Quick oil and filter change at a nearby dealer this morning before I go on a trip. I believe they put in a Castrol product, 5w30... Nearing 28k miles!

Any recommendations on oil products you guys prefer for my 30k service?

Also while I was leaving, I saw a white Kizashi in the lot. The person was likely was in the waiting lounge with me and I never knew it!

I like Pennzoil Platinum and Pennzoil Ultra 5W-30 synthetic motor oil. Others here like Mobil 1. Both are reputable synthetic motor oils that are easy to get your hands on.

Given you have a 6 speed manual with 30K on it, I'd recommend you change out your transmission fluid and put in a good synthetic like Red Line. I think the service interval isn't until longer but it's my experience that Red Line synthetics improve shift feel and performance. I currently have the thicker MT-90 but will try MTL next.

Hey Weshoot, how do you avoid the sheriffs, police, and other undesirables? 8-)

I have a highly developed sense of drivers license preservation; I pick my battles very carefully.
I listen to my spider-senses, and if I detect even the slightest 'hinkiness' I back off (subconscious signals are real).

So far so good (last ticket, 2002, LE said "I had to stop you when you passed 90...")....
