Anyone from canada got their rear struts replaced out of bumper to bumper warranty, using the TSB?
Not bad, took only 90ish minutes, If I remember correctly. Good practice because I need to replace the struts & shocks on my Corolla with 196k miles.SamirD wrote:Great to hear! How bad was the install? (assuming you did it yourself)redmed wrote:Just installed new bumper stops @ 42k miles. Shocks still good. Just slight hints of rust I was able to remove with some Never Dull.
Rarely driven in rain or snow.

Very cool. How did you keep the springs compressed and still access the shocks? At the dealership, they had some stands that they placed on the rear a-arms, but I couldn't figure out a way someone would do that without the tools.redmed wrote:Not bad, took only 90ish minutes, If I remember correctly. Just put the car on jack stands, then put the jack under the knuckle to support the weight of the knuckle/brake/hub. Or, even better, only jack up one side of the car, the anti-roll bar holds it from dropping too far.

Nice! Sounds super-simple.Woodie wrote:Just put the car on jack stands, then put the jack under the knuckle to support the weight of the knuckle/brake/hub. Or, even better, only jack up one side of the car, the anti-roll bar holds it from dropping too far.

There is no spring around the shock to compress, so just like Woodie said.

Sure makes it easy to change the shocks. Too bad we can't easily get the shocks.redmed wrote:There is no spring around the shock to compress, so just like Woodie said.

$86 and they'll arrive at your front door three days later, don't know what would be easier.

But apparently these aren't actually shipping. Several forum members tried to buy them in the past.Woodie wrote:http://www.kyboutlet.com/parts-for/?fin ... shi-143049
