Does anyone know how the auto dimming mirror works? Mine isn't working.

Hate to ask this, but did you turn it off? There are on and off switches for it.
Also, when you put it in reverse, the dimming is canceled. Maybe there's are fault in that circuit?
It works by continuously changing the liquid crystal display density on the mirror surface.

Even if you turn it off the next time you start the car it will turn itself back on.
I hate my auto dimming mirror, it does not get as dim as the old flip mirrors.
It also will not work in the daylight. If the sensor on the front of the mirror see brightness it will not darken no matter how bright a light is shining from behind the car.
